SOL expansion

See that is a sensible answer and spot on

We dont need extra seats
I’d love a 20 goals a season striker.

The club could generate more revenue without having to spend millions on development work by increasing prices.

We don’t want or need to have millions of pounds of debt hanging over us.

I would rather money was spent on improving the squad and the facilities we have currently in the stadium.

An expansion would likely lead to that. They aren’t mutually exclusive.

The budget for this type of stuff couldn’t just be put into the playing side anyway. That goes towards PSR, infrastructure development investment does not. And that means if we raise revenue from an extension / redevelopment, that can go back into the playing squad

Yup but the money for development would still have to be procured and of course repaid.

The club will decide if it's time to expand or not and there is nothing big Jeff or be there or any of the more forward thanking of fans can do about it.

Absolutely right. The fans job is to turn up, buy a few pints and a pie, shout like a maniac and leave on 83 minutes.

I’ll leave the rest to the heed honchos.

I note the new Everton stadium is only 52,000 I thought it would be at least 60,000 but perhaps like some on here even they don't think the support is there to fill 60K regularly.

Atletico's new ground has a 70k capacity but is only filled versus Real Madrid, other games it is regularly 10-15k under capacity

Think its more to do with the fact the North Stand is cut short by the docks and road which is why the upper tier is smaller than the rest of the Stadium. It hurts my eyes when i see it. It cant have been a design feature 🤔 Would have been 55,000.

I think it can be easily extended if needed

Agreed, but your comment applies to literally everyone on this thread. They'll decide when the time is right

There's various potential reasons for that, think every Evertonian thinks it should have been bigger.
The club have been consistent though in saying they want every seat sold and by limiting supply can support quite an aggresive price point. They want consistent demand and not a situation where you can casually get a seat for any game.

Slight caveat to that.the new Holmes to the south of the stadium might give them a nudge to do it sooner than planned ...I would have thought because of the concert business the east stand was the most logical do do first!

I think it was more around the question marks around the infrastructure around the stadium supporting 60k fans, I don’t think there is much doubt they could fill 60k in the PL and they are helped by there rivals in the city never having tickets available.

Ironically considering the recent back and forth with the council, the new bridge is a big reason why you could argue the SOL has the surrounding infrastructure to support an extension, and I’m fairly certain when there was some initial pushback on further extensions years ago, one thing listed was they would need a new footbridge to support it (or monorail 😉).

There is a lot of frustration for many of our supporters with the way the pricing and ticketing has gone with the new stadium so far. There are thousands on the waiting list and Everton have basically forced all non-season ticket holders who want a ticket to purchase a membership for either £35 or £60 (but the £35 one will always lose out for tickets to the £60 one as far as I am aware). This is simply to go in to a ballot where they may or may not be successful in getting a ticket each time.

Brighton was announced as a "sell out" by the club, as was last night vs Mansfield (who also brought an excellent 6K following) and yet the attendance for Brighton was 1000 short of capacity with small blocks of empty seats in certain sections and last night had the same situation, with an attendance of 48,583 - capacity is 52,769.

It's not clear why these little sections of empty areas are happening but it's likely to do with the extortionate package options that Everton have sold on to other companies that are not selling. Rightly the fans aren't happy as people are desperate to go, Everton are announcing sell outs and it seems at this rate that we will never be able to get a capacity crowd as it stands. There was also a massive area for segregation last night which seemed excessive and some are saying could be related to how the home and away fans would mix on the concourse for Cup games.

Brace yourselves for disappointing things like this with fan exploitation if you do end up expanding and the owners want to boost revenue without care for loyal supporters.
