One bad result

Tough on mayenda but stick that away after a couple of minutes and we win I reckon.
Agree it’s always going to be tough in this league
We had two big chances to go ahead. Goals change games. The two first half misses (well, at least Mayenda's required the 'keeper to make a save, so not really a miss) would have forced Burnley to open up a bit more.

For my money, Talbi's was the worse miss - he had time and space to pick his spot. Mayenda's chance, he had neither time, nor space.

Things could have been so different had we lost to Coventry or Sheffield United, but we didn't and the hierarchy are doing their best to make us a Premier League team capable of staying up. I'm glad that we got to the Premier League and happy with the way things are progressing despite the defeat yesterday. We need to stay onside with the team and get behind them. I find it unbelievable that so-called fans are criticising Regis after 1 bad result. Onwards and upwards.

Been awaiting it for a while tbh 😆 Next we’ll have “RLB has to go” “he’s spent £150m” we were “lucky to get promoted” “can't slag off x, y, z cause they cost £x millions” “can’t say owt against Ballard/Mayenda/Isidor cause play off goal” “too defensive/sat back”

It’s all coming. Brace yourselves.

Wa doomed. Sack everyone.

What a bunch of moaning knackers.

Saying we are doomed and calling for peoples heads is a bit strong. It’s just this game has knocked the stuffing out of some of us. Those who are more highly strung. More sensitive to losses than others. The fans who feel all the negative emotions of a defeat far earlier in a series of losses. It’s also the implications of a loss. Over time defeats lead to bad shit happening like loss of league place, relegation etc. Not saying some fans think we are going down because Burnley beat us. But these more sensitive supporters to defeat might start to entertain notions that something bad might happen far earlier.

Nah they just need better regulation of their emotions and to find other stuff in their life tbh.

Two games!

I can only assume that the moaning posters have not supported the lads for very long.

Jeeez it’s one game!

I don’t know who exactly has been moaning but any concerns raised I think are valid and very reasonable. So can it be considered moaning if your point comes from a well meaning place?

Yes it is one game but I do think that we are just seeing a manifestation of what is a natural reaction to a loss. Nobody wants to see their favourite team (be it in football, rugby, NFL, motor racing or anything else) do badly. We all want them to be doing well all the time. I take a defeat as well for the Miami Dolphins as I do for Team BMW in the BTCC or Sunderland. You are happy with the wins and sad about the defeats. That’s the way humans have been programmed for millennia.

If we get a draw against Brentford then all will be well. Till we next lose. Then we will be fine again when we win or draw. Take the rough with the smooth. Only not in the same way. Take it in conjunction with the situation.

And btw to a certain poster I have informed the mods of said posters worrying behaviour last night in a conversation. I hope they will reply.

Harsh on Talbi. He's sprinting to get there and it's a neat chip, just falls a yard the wrong way

Mayenda's in position after a set piece routine and should be prepped to bury it

We will be backing the lads throughout the season but the reality is that looked as relegation fodder as it gets and we were against relegation fodder.
No we didn’t.
Southampton, Ipswich and Leicester looked like relegation fodder after a couple of rounds last season.

The reality is that we’ve very much been in it and looked fairly assured in three out of four halves of football which is a massive plus.

I suppose the question mark arises about the two team we’ve played.

West Ham look to have huge problems.
Burnley are likely to be bottom four or five too.

What was an excellent start has become a ‘steady’ start. Next weekend already feels big!

Only 4 away wins from the 19 games played so far, hopefully Liverpool can make it 5 from 20 tonight.

Clearly it's not easy, but hopefully we can produce a much more convincing response the next time we are behind in a game.

This is going to be a season if ups and downs.

We've just brought in an entirely new team, so days like Saturday are bound to happen, particularly against a solid determined defence.

We'll grow through the season and I expect we'll be surprising a few people along the way.
