If Mayenda is the best striker we can get, Then we are in trouble. don’t get me wrong I do rate him but when you spend £160m you expect an experience striker starting!!
 
Anyway.

Another game in the bank for this new side.

We should be picking up points against teams like Burnley yes but Burnley set themselves up well.

Best thing I can say is that RLB tends to learn from wake up calls. Let’s hope so.

I think we can be disappointed. last week gave us a great foundation and ultimately we’ve been pretty poor especially in second half never looked like breaking them down after conceding

And then that was a mess tactically by the end
 
Very disappointing. Typical Sunderland mind, talk about after The Lord Mayors Show.

Play that way and we’re going straight back where we came from.

We’re probably the only premier league side to lose at Burnley this season.

As encouraging and positive as last week was that was depressing and hugely worrying.

If we were looking at the first few games on paper as fixtures which could see us win a good few points - that’s the easiest one well and truly blown.

Deserved a point as Burnley were worse , they had two big chances and scored , we missed both of ours.
We need better attacking threat, much needs to happen this week.

Yep...hence why I'm saying we need to bring creativity in, said it after preseason season games. We need creativity in the final third. Don't think Le Bris subs helped at all. I would have kept Talbi on for his pace for example.
Also, this is why Mayenda cant keep missing these sitters like today and pre season, we haven't the luxury of our main striker doing that in our position. We need a striker in.
