Jhon Lucumi - Transfer Rumour

It was 40 points.
Technically Boro got 42 points that season - ignoring the 3 that were docked.
Imagine where we could have been now if we’d beaten Wimbledon and moved to our new ground as a PL club. Real sliding doors moment 😔
Probably no SKP if that happened but we were trying for some very good players in that relegation season, perhaps we’d have got them. That said our transfer business that summer was excellent and really set us up for the 7th place a couple of years later.

Ah that's annoying, think I've actually been caught out by a dream, thought this was a here we go already.

Think it was 40 with loads of teams on 41, so another point would have done.
Was a cracking season, last at Roker maybe? Wish I remembered more but beating Man Utd, and getting pumped by Wimbledon, seem to stick out especially

I wouldn't have swapped the first 4 seasons for a chance to start them in the PL mind, even the two in the Champs were glorious, we might never have signed SKP if we'd stopped up!
But we might have signed Kinkladze, Jorginho, and Ravenelli, so who knows. What I do know is that we’d have been able to say goodbye to Roker with a party atmosphere rather than a few days after a depressing relegation, and we’d have sold out season tickets for the PL in a brand new 42k stadium. The revenue that we lost in those 2 championship seasons was vast.

Our transfer business that summer was ‘excellent’ only in hindsight. At the time it was cut price and controversial at best. We signed a CF from division 3, a CB from division 4, a RB from France, and Lee Clark. Imagine the meltdown if social media existed then in the way it does now 🤣. If we’d stayed up, who knows who we might have signed. As I say, sliding doors moment.

Cheeky buggers.
Thank you.
Ha aye, to be fair it's usually in good jest

Final stage before Bologna cave in

They haven’t accepted as they want more. No doubt hoping another team enters the fray next week and offers a higher fee last minute. They’ve already signed his replacement so can’t blame them for squeezing as much out the deal as they can. Frustrating for us as it is.

Ffs. On and on this rumbles. If they wanted to keep him that bad why even say anything in the media, thereby giving Lucumi’s agent the right to reply in the media? Posturing imo.
Has been for a while now. Fair play to bologna for being tough negotiators!!

Also wouldnt put it past us to sucker punch them and sign someone else for 10mill instead and leave them with a disgruntled player!

They'll just want him to go a bit nuclear to force the move so they can say "there's nothing we could do" and placate their fans who are already pissed off after selling a few this summer.
