Durham's one day cup campaign

Hardly straight on their backs.
Bowling has been pretty inept all season barring Ben Raine and can't think of one batsman who has been consistent throughout the season. Would you you put a case why this discontent is unreasonable?
You have hit the nail on the head regarding consistency.

I'm not aware that you've ever got stick for that. I'm asking you to justify your criticism of those who are expressing discontent with some recent abject performances

Well you can’t just pretend our blast season hasn’t happened right?
Shite performance today but we did win like 2 days ago

Utter the shambles this club at the moment embarrassing performance again and again. North needs to go what party line is Campbell trotting out after this!

Happy to hold my hands up and admit the Borthwick experiment hasn’t worked out. Although, we didn’t have much else to lose by bringing him in ahead of some of the other chancers we have in the squad.

Something seriously wrong behind the scenes at the moment which is worrying. Coaches don’t seem to be coaching very well and players not playing very well - a match made in heaven it would seem!

Or beaten by the better team, like we did to lancs 2 days ago

Fair enough. I'm just making the point that criticism of recent abject performances are justifiable.

Yeah fair enough you lose by this margin yoi deserve criticism, thr nature of it fair enough

To my original point I’d argue that we had an unreal win 2 days ago that barely even got mentioned on here then we lose here and the knives are out, “club is a joke” etc, people pick and chose a bit unfairly. I don’t think that’s an unreasonable point

Well we are in one quarter final

Thats the spirit tho, straight on their backs!
Ill not be seeing any of you at finals days by sounds of it
Straight on their backs what an absolute joke. I've been a member since 1992 patiently sitting through defeat after defeat in the early years as we tried to establish ourselves in the First Class game ( remember 1996 with the sole win in the Sunday League and none in the CC.) Celebrating like we'd won the Cup in the gloom at Feethams vs Kent in 1997 with Boon bowling spin to ensure our first CC win in over two years. Sticking by them through a series of false dawns and more wooden spoons than my old mam's cutlery drawer saying that we'll come good someday.

And then the glory years of 07 - 14 where we were the best team in the land and feared by the established order to then be followed by the events of 2016 and sticking by them as Stoneman, Borthwick, Coughlin and Jennings went elsewhere but we, the supporters, remained as we languished in Div 2 for six awful seasons because we cared for the club.
And then Campbell arrived and turned it around in 2023 getting the team to play some of the best cricket I've ever seen and seemingly establishing us last season as a future force in Div 1.

As I get older I admit I may be turning into a Victor Meldrew but the thing about him was that he wasn't really a moaning old sod it was because he really cared about things and I care for Durham way more than any other sports team I could to mention. I don't give a toss if England lose at cricket but I'm hugely concerned about what is going on at my club this season - something that I've pointed out since the defeats at home to Warwicks and Somerset. We wouldn't have lost those matches last season thats for sure and worse still you can see the negative body language in the players - it didn't look like the team looked like they believed they could win Whether that's down to the players themselves, the captain, the Coach, the bowling coach, the Director of Cricket or our member loving Chief Exec I can't say but it is alarming how we've declined. I've always given credit where credit is due but I'm sorry but there's been too many times this season where performances have been unacceptable and today was definitely one of them.
