Striker
Light on the wings with quality and up top. Cant spend £140 mill and rely on inexperienced strikers and wingers to stay upThat’s a very decent squad when it’s all laid out.

This. I keep banging this drum but Brighton (and to a lesser extent the Red Bull clubs) are the model to emulate. Enjoy the players while they're here, but they're here for a good time not a long time, and always have their replacements in mind while progressing the club along the way.As fans, we can't help but get attached to players. In a well ran club anyone is replaceable as long as the value for that player is met.
We didn't know who Mayenda was a few years ago when Ross Stewart was banging them in.
So now our first team squad looks a little like
Roefs/Patterson
Hume/Mukiele
Reinildo/Cirkin/Masuaku
Ballard/Alderete/Lucumi/ O Nien?
Xhaka/Sadiki/Diarra/Le Fee/Rigg/Neil
Adingra/Talbi/Roberts/ Mundle
Mayenda/Guiu/Isidor
24 man squad there. Allowed 25, and honestly looking at it I can't see which position we'd go for. I'm all for putting faith in the front 3, why wouldn't you when two of them have just scored in the opening day, if a striker is to be replaced though it'd be Isidor. 4 strikers in a squad for one position just wouldn't work.
IF they've been at the club 3 years
- Under-21 Players: Players under 21 years old (born on or after January 1, 2004, for the 2025/26 season) are not included in the 25-man squad and can play for the club in addition to the 25 players.

Have to agree, experience needed.Light on the wings with quality and up top. Cant spend £140 mill and rely on inexperienced strikers and wingers to stay up

O'Nien is this season's Hjelde when we go back 5 to hold on to a leadI mean they just gave him a new contract
He will play games
We can negotiate to pay in installments now though. Release clause had to be paid in one paymentConfused with this so the release clause expired as we wanted to negotiate a better deal once it expired. Now we're offereng the original release clause but they can now refuse. if so its a missed opporunity.
I thought those wages are loads more than we could afford tbhWages aren't even bad if that figure is accurate and 6 year contract potentially the club definitely sees him as one of the key pieces
FTM it's them it's happening to and not us at the moment, so if you don't mind i'll keep on chortling away for as long as possible , especially after the last 8 years. It's all been brought on themselves with their gloating how their owners were going to buy them the lot. They've bought them one and CL twice but the self entitlement has gone through the roof. Tossers.I agree we’ve handled departures well so far but we’ve not had a situation where a player we really want to keep is forcing his way out.If the roles were reversed and Mayenda was agitating to go after scoring 20 goals this season, I doubt we’d take it with equanimity. I know that’s football etc and it’s funny to see them in disarray but we wouldn’t like it.
The best reason I’ve heard on here is that the clause would have been all up frontWhy would we not have just activated his release clause weeks ago which was lower than that bid?
Where have you seen that?IF they've been at the club 3 years
I'm hearing that Speakman put a horse's head in the bed of Bologna's DoF and that has sealed the deal.I said before (and was called Xenephobic by someone on here, but I really believe it) the Italian teams are the toughest negotiators in my experience. Which for the avoidance of doubt, I don’t mind! I think it’s a good thing for them.
