Jhon Lucumi - Transfer Rumour

But, but, worraboot the entatainas?

As Fletch said?

Tbh they’ve entertained me, all summer 🤣

How on EARTH could they actually be MORE entertaining after this summer?

Turned down by half of Europe's footballers.
Fans boasting about impending world domination combusting on a daily basis.
Star striker saying "well I told you last year I was off - Here I go!"
The penny finally dropping that "if the PIF can't be arsed to employ people at the clubs, sign new players, keep the best player and are more intent on giving Liverpool money to buy Isak?
Maybe they aren't going to buy us the league and they don't actually give a shit even though we've prostituted our bodies and morals to support them?"

What could be more entertaining?

Well...

Actually?

A few more transfer requests might do that...?

does anyone know - and i'm sure it's probably been discussed elsewhere on here - but where is all this spending coming from? Is it KLD family backing us? or someone else? or are we just borrowing the cash? We never "spent" our way out of L1 or the Championship so i always assumed there wasn't really any benefactor behind us...and obviously we had to spend money now to have a chance of bridging the gap from Champ to Prem...just genuinely curious as to what/where the financial situation is

I've not gone into it and am absolutely not knowledgeable - but - from what people have said:
Selling players and recouping over 50 million
Spending what we have spent
Spreading it over 4 or 5 year contracts

Means we're okay in terms of PSR, but we've loaded a few years spending onto 1 year, so we may need to sell next season to buy again.

Similar to a few teams this and last year spending very little in the hope that they can spend more the next year (Liverpool).

I'm sure people who know more can expand / do better.

Just burst out laughing. Posted from a ‘fan’ of a team who bought safety then bought the CL twice and a cup
Starboy strikes again. The only twitter username I recognise on sight after the amount of absolute dribble I've seen from him linked from here. The lad's either suffered a traumatic brain injury or he's an incredible WUM.

The most self entitled and delusional fan base in the world.

Andy who names there twitter account after Anthony f***in Gordon anyway
I genuinely can't believe with the PSR rules that they believe that they are the hard done by ones :)

Apparently PSR is being 'anti competitive' because they should have been allowed to buy the league ala Man City

Well he does mean "spend continuously".

Also "spending money on players" does actually rely on "players actually wanting to f***ing join your club in the first place".

Which may be the problem with his magnificent logic.

Are we really still in for this lad as well?

Seems like overkill.

Would he even get in the team? Ahead of our warrior prince from Paraguay?

I’d rather we splurged on a forward.

Bologna have already signed his replacement.

This "determined not to let him go" craic is a PR stunt after already losing a few players this summer.

Next step will be forcing him into a transfer request/publically announcing he wants to go, and they can then say "we did all we can" so the fans target him as opposed to the club.
Leverkusen said more or less the exact same thing re Xhaka, even their manager flat out said he wasn’t going.

All a big front to keep their fans happy, won’t work. We’ll get Lucumi, just as we got Xhaka, just as we’ll get any fucker we seriously go for.

We. Are. Back. 8-)

If you look at our current CB options, you’ve got:

Alderete
Ballard
Seelt
Alese
O’Nien

The bottom 2 are injured till next month, and there’s the risk O’Nien isn’t good enough. Alese is too injury prone to be relied on. Seelt has just come back from a long lay off (though looked okay v West Ham) and is linked with a loan move away to Roef’s ex club.

It’s only Alderete and Ballard I’d be really confident in at CB, and Ballard has the issues of pace and an injury record.

I know Reinildo & Mukiele can fill there, but I think they’re predominantly full backs.

Another one is definitely needed imo.

Edit: I’m not counting Triantis or Johnson as they’re not really in our first team plans imo.

If we stay up and do it well most of the team will be in place for the next 2-3 years I’d say. Maybe 1-2 additions and leavers…

whilst he's certainly not an Alese/Huggins type case Ballard is fond of a spell in the physio room. we definitely need another CB as would be ideal to get Seelt out on loan for some regular game time

We’ve just signed two CBs who are probably starters, I would like to keep the core of Ballard, Alese and O’Nein as back up.

What Regis said about keeping an identity and togetherness is important.

Think Mukiele probably bought as a CB for us? Fits the type we were looking for.
