That’s why some people are suggesting specifically a right sided CB who could cover RB

Isn’t Hume a specialist right footed RB …someone a bundeslieg team was happy to pay 10m for. O9 and Sadiki can both play there at a push, maybe not ideal, but we aren’t a top 6 team with 3 of everything for every position

For a top coveted player we represent a possible black mark on his playing CV being relegation favorites.

Couldn't see the logic of him not even getting ten mins .

There's no issue from me with 2 left footed CBs in a first XI

The issue is the make up of our squad. We have 3 designated left backs, all of whom are probably premier level (jury out on Cirkin but it's possible). Plus we have 3 left footed centre backs who can plan left back in a crisis

We don't have that on the right, and if we play Sadiki we're eating into the midfield quality (and he was apparently a bit shit there for Saint G)

I really don't think it's hard to see why buying a player who can play in both Ballard and Hume's positions is thought by some to be a sensible idea. They're two of the only remaining players from last season in the first XI, and they play next to each other. If either one doesn't step up, it's a glaring area of weakness in our team.

Weve been promoted twice in 4 years
