Calvert-Lewin (discussion on transfer)

I know it'll sound bitter, and not living in the real world etc, but if it was true and that was his response, I'd rather we didn't sign him. Wouldn't want him rocking up late in the window just because no other fucker in the league wants him. Not exactly the commitment you'd want, I'm not convinced he'd be busting a gut to come back from knocks and if he's waiting it means we'd likely have had to go a few winnable games without him while he waits to see if anyone else wants him. You can't always just move on because a player wants to assess his options, but in this case I'd very much want us to.
Completely agree, attitude is so important

I do get where you’re coming from, but at the same time I don’t blame him for seeing what other options may come later on.

His agent might be telling him to just get fit and hang on for a European club (Palace or Forest) to come in later on in the window.

Completely agree. You get the impression a lot of the players we’ve signed now have bought into our vision of the club and what we’re trying to do. If there’s any truth that he’s just waiting to scope out other options then he’s not a signing I’m enthusiastic about.

This. The "great bunch of lads" factor has propelled us here. Mentality is key.

Could see this being a turning out as a very Grigg-ian signing with someone who has no interest in being here.

Career trajectory looking on the same path as his old fashionista pal, Tom Davies.
Maybe he could link up with him at Sheffield United, and the pair could design the clubs strips?

Apparently he's after £150k a week. I doubt anyone would offer him even half of that.
Begs the question of what the hell has he actually done to warrant demanding such wages?

17 goals in 93 games in the last 4 seasons for a mid to lower Premier league team and constantly injured. His agent must be delusional.

But the Mags will end up getting desperate and meeting his demands which, honestly, good on him for stealing so much money from them to sit on the bench all season.
