Calvert-Lewin (discussion on transfer)

I know quite a few are still hopeful of Guiu plus an experienced striker. I don’t see it.

Particularly now the clause in Guiu’s contract has come out revealing we’ve agreed certain appearance assurances. It looks like we’re hoping Guiu will be the main man with potentially another winger coming in on the right to hopefully chip in with goals and assists.

We’ve already spent a fortune and with work still to do in defence our budget isn’t bottomless despite the hungry ogre tag.
Hope he is good enough. But if he plays 6-8 games without scoring, he can't keep playing forever just to save money. Anyway, he's gonna bang goals in for fun and do his party tricks in the corner of the pitch when we're winning 5-0.

He'll be off to Newcastle as backup to their Isak replacement. A nice "he turned Sunderland down" story will help soften the blow for them
Literally my first thought. He turned Sunderland down to come here. Must be class then

The rumoured wages he wants are obscene. He’s a mid table prem striker going on his best and that was 5 years ago. He’s also spent plenty time injured in recent seasons. One to avoid unless the wages are considerably less than reported.

In the minority here but I really rate him like. Injuries would be the big concern but on his day he bullies premier league CBs no bother. Risky signing but I’d be happy with it if we got him in
He's a very good striker when he's injury free. I'd have been happy to see him here, would work really well with the setup imo. Never mind.
