Robin Roefs 🇳🇱 compendium

Difference is two keepers who will both expect to be number 1. An improvement in the keeping department by a distance. Moore came knowing he would never ever be number 1.

It seems a really solid signing.
Seems a very good signing, 6' 4" and an excellent shot stopper, only 22 and going to get better, at least he has a lot more scope and potential for being a top, top keeper than some we were after.

This is only compared to fellow Eredivisie GK's (the club will have far more extensive data), but that "crosses stopped" number is something that has been prevalent in all the GK's we've been linked with this summer, as @woodlebert noted in a prior thread.

He had a +9.7 PsxG - GA = expected goals conceded – actual goals conceded figure, which was the best in the Eredivisie last season and one of the highest figures that any keeper has posted in that division in recent memory.

In English, he was essentially worth 10 goals to them over the course of last season in the league.

Just going by that highlight reel, it looks like the experience he has is playing behind a deep-lying defence (long shots and close reactions from deep crosses)

That’s what we’ll be doing this season. All of our signings fit into that idea of sitting deep and counter attacking. (Quick wingers, central midfielders with high progressive passing)

Hopefully this one will work out, but still almost no premier league experience in the squad.

This was talked about a while back and the club (speakman?) acknowledged it and said that would be the focus for the remaining signings.

Obviously Xhaka has that, but suggests there's several more to come who've played in the premier league ... I think only 3 of the current squad ever have, including Hjelde...

I wonder if Patto has said he wants to leave if he isn't going to be number 1. I wouldn't be shocked at all if this lad comes in and we still target a more experienced number 2 keeper
Was just thinking this. Especially if the rumour of Patto surgery is true.
