That's so far from Premier League standard it's scary - we would lose every game every time.

GK and defence is a huge concern. That back 5 will get torn apart in the prem.
 
Sounds to me like they are wanting a little more money for him and we've been hesitant to up our offer. So they leak he might not go anywhere to try and get us to react. See Leverkusen and Xhaka. Again, if we really want this lad i suspect he will be here soon
 
Sounds like we’re just haggling with them over a fee that surpasses the release clause he had. Into final year of contract as well so no wonder they don’t want to pay over the odds. We probably need to be careful now if we have others lined up in different areas of the pitch we want to spend on to

They'll know we'll be getting desperate as the season approaches without any defensive reinforcements in. Doesn't bode well for us a getting a good deal.

Not really. If we chase after 3 or 4 options then its not us thats desperate for the deal to happen it's the selling club

I mean for as long as we're merely "chasing" targets and not actually "signing" targets, then we are absolutely going to be the ones in the more desperate position. We need defenders in within the next two weeks. Clubs will know this.

We only desperately need 1 CB really. After that we can manage with what we have.

We're no more desperate than other clubs for needing certain positions filled. Again if we have a good few options we're chasing then the desperation doesnt really exist in negotiations of 1 of them we just tell them we're speaking to other players unless their price is fair
