Really minor annoyances

I'll log hours between my non exec d job
You would be better off leasing a van and doing some part time delivery job for amazon etc. Pick and choose your hours. Lorry driving tends to be longer hours and greater distances and more time away from family.

The number of places that now add optional tips to card transactions

Now I’m not going to add 20% to my pint cost because I walked to the bar and you shuffled to pull a pint with a face like a smacked arse
Similarly, service charges already being added seems to be the norm in most places now. I’m always sceptical about tips added onto the bill and paid by card in terms of how much of it the waiter/waitress will actually see of it in the first place, nevermind these service charges.

Add petrol stations that ask if you want to add anything to ‘charity’ as well before you pay. Sceptical of them anarl.

I'd love that. Long drive from Scotland back and forth to teesside.

Equally just delaying the train. Exp 5 mins. Exp 8 mins. Exp 249 mins. Just cancel it mate and I'll get on with other solutions.
The reason it is only a minor annoyance at the minute is my train was cancelled, so I'll be late for work, nothing I can do about that. I'll just message work. It happens to most people regularly, so it is accepted.

Then I get to claim delay-repay and I put any money I get back from that in a general beer money account. So standing on a platform not going to work means "free" beer this weekend.

I did that for a while during a lean spell. Driver's mate for Comet. Lugging American fridges up three flights. Did enjoy it.
Always fancied continental stuff , coaches or wagons . Nowt better than setting off with 1000 miles in front of you and no one telling you what to do. Not all its cracked up to be like everything else i suppose

When I was younger I used to deliver up the Scottish borders when other drivers were on holiday. Two to three hours getting upto the likes of West Linton or Cocksburnspath wasn't too bad. It was finding the little houses dotted all over the place with no numbers or street names that took its toll. However nowt better than grabbing a cuppa and sandwich, music on and enjoying the drive back down.

i do exactly that. teesside to aberdeen and back. set off at sackless o clock, watch the sunrise over bamburgh/berwick. get to dundee for 1st break. continue to aberdeen, do what has to be done, set off back, second break between dundee and perth then drive till i'm out of driving hours. usually dunbar/eyemouth. park up, eat my pot noodles, relax and off to bed. it's spot on this time of year, not so enjoyable in the winter.
I quite like the idea of tramping on the lorries. Driving at night when the roads are quiet, depot to depot. Easy life.
the roads might be quiet if you can find one that's not closed.
