Leeds agree £10m for Longstaff

I watched TalkSPORT on YouTube this morning and there was a chat about Jordan Henderson signing for Brentford. One point that was made was that if promoted clubs are to survive they need to look at one of the established Premier League sides who are the chink in the armour of the Premier League. The one team right now that is the most vulnerable to slipping up and going down. That alone earns you a vital place. Brentford are deemed to be that team according to one of the guys on the mic. What with Frank going to Tottenham and that top player rumoured to be going to Man United.

Thats why signing top names for the right price is so vital. It can be a valuable asset against any established team that looks like they could struggle. They can make a seemingly difficult game against an established team in the league a bit easier. A bit more winnable.

I don’t care what others say about them, you have to alter your perception of a player if you are going from a target for say Chelsea to a team like Burnley, if x or y is good enough to help you as a newly promoted team stay up then that can only be a good thing. And I think Longstaff will turn out to be a strong addition.

Why do I get the horrible and sickening sense of impending laughing coming my way from everyone?

Longstaff !?? 🤣 🤣 worst premier league midfielder Ive ever seen. He's not that good. No wonder why Newcastle sold him.

You do need smatterings of experience or its GOODBYE! to the premier league.

Spoke to a Leeds fan in the pub on Sunday and asked him where he seriously thought they would finish this season and he said , with a straight face "I think we will finish 7th".
I barely made it back to my chair without falling to the floor laughing and I dont think the signature of Longstaff will help them 1 bit.

He's not good enough for the top of the league, but he was good enough when they were at the bottom. I think he'll be a solid, if unspectacular signing for a newly promoted club.
He played in a top 4 team.

He played in a top 4 team.
I think he would be a good player for lower half teams to hedge bets on as he would be good for a promotion race, but it's hard to see how he works specifically for Sunderland. If only because he's a pseudo-Geordie and it never works out well. Very, very few players have the mental maturity for it.

He has played in a top 4 team aye, but Newcastle have a huge gap between their excellent players of that level, and the few who make up the rest.

There’s been worse mind loads worse but Longstaff natural level is the championship works hard and that’s about it

Good deal for the mags getting £10m for him
He played in a top 4 team.
So did Kevin Kilbane but he was pretty crap too

Going on like top 4 regulars 😳
