Looking at what’s happening at Brentford just now, I think they will struggle next season.

We have just paid a club record signing for a player who was in a team whose midfield completely bypassed the bench containing Jordan Henderson.

More than sentiment, he would have been a quality signing for us. Boatloads of experience at this level and he's a leader of men, would have been our captain. His passing in last season's Europa league was better 95+ percentile, we struggled to complete passes last season.

He's at Brentford, counting his money, and deciding which chair on the bench he wants to sit in.

Don't get this. he was one thing our team is lacking, Premier League experience... in abundance.

Anyone in doubt about about his on field influence look at the podcast done by Ben Foster.

In one episode he talks about how he and the rest of the team he was playing with all talked about how Henderson spent the entire match orchestrating the Liverpool team, and players like Sane and Salah were looking to him all match for guidance.

Personally I hope O'Nien is nowhere near the first 11. If we're going into the season with him in defence we're in big trouble. Similar arguments for Neil but we already have alternatives for him.

Jordan Henderson is a nice bloke and performed well at Sunderland. He has played in some very important games for other clubs and won Trophies. Do I think he could bring anything to the Sunderland Team we currently have? Nah, we need to let it go. Canny lad. But, come on? Every coach we have had has selected him more often than not.

You might be right this time, and RLB will certainly make the right decision on his merit to be selected, but ffs man, give the bloke the credit he deserves and the respect he has earned.
