Bring her back - Horror movie with decent IMDB rating and reviews. I thought it was rubbish. One of them you watch and when the credits roll at the end you think WTF have I just watched.

Not keen on Australian horror films I also hated The babadook.

Heads Of State (2025)

John Cena and Idris Elba are the "odd couple" President of the USA and Prime Minister of the UK, on the run together while assassins try repeatedly to kill them. Action-comedy popcorn flick that doesn't require much brain power, and pretty much delivers what it says on the tin.

It's no 48 Hours, Beverly Hills Cop, Hot Fuzz or Bad Boys but it is a moderately entertaining addition to the genre, and despite me finding both actors to be less than believable in their respective roles as heads of state of the US and UK, it's not really the kind of movie where that's particularly important once it kicks into gear, and in its defence the movie did make me giggle out loud a couple of times.

So, if you want something fairly mindless, mildly amusing and a bit actiony to pass some time, you could do worse than putting this one on.

My Neighbour Totoro (1988)

Rewatched with the bairn after we went to see the stage show performed by the RSC, which was excellent.

I love this film, and I realised it’s because it makes me feel like a kid again. To the littleun, it’s a nice film about two sisters and the magic animals they meet in the woods, to me it’s about two kids going through a lot of upheaval and worry and doing a lot of growing up. And some nice bits with magic animals.

Just a really nice watch. Would recommend.

A Canterbury Tale (1944) 10/10
Been years since I last watched this. Always forget how bonkers the story is, and how inconsequential the main mystery turns out to be - the film is about so much more than a simple whodunnit. Masterful filmmaking, especially the Canterbury Cathedral interiors, which were shot in the studio.

The Big Heat (1953) 10/10
Possibly Fritz Lang's best Hollywood film. A policeman commits suicide - or did he? Glenn Ford investigates, and is soon caught in a web of corruption. Brilliant film noir.

Peter's Friends (1992) 7/10
Very 1990s period piece. Stephen Fry as Peter, who inherits a country pile and invites his estranged Cambridge Footlights pals for New Year's Eve. All of them have hidden issues. A little too self-satisfied for my taste.

Hacksaw Ridge- ITVX

Genuinely up there (for me) as one of the best WW2 films ever made. Fascinating true story and very well paced throughout. The violent, war scenes are very intense and graphic but never gratuitous and really help give a sense of what it was like. Would definitely recommend.

Ballerina....John wick with lady bumps, was alreet for a switch off and watch people get killed kinda thing 6.5/10
I watched that last night and got bored after about 30 minutes. Stuck with it until the end but even the almost cartoon scenes in the mountain village when everyone was after her were just too daft for me. 5/10 and I liked the first couple of John Wick films.

Yeh gonna be hammered to death this wick franchise, I did notice Keane reeves was one of the producers so he's on the big money side now

Personally just thought it was what it was much the same as watching a Jason stathem or Liam neeson film😄

I agree. Exceptional movie and ( IMHO) Andrew Garfield's best performance, up there with his roles in Boy A and 99 Homes.

Quite possibly that includes some contemporary reviews of the absolutely butchered us theatrical release version - where without Leone's permission they got the editor of Police Academy to hack two f***ing hours out of the running time and rearrange everything into chronological order
Physical Media.
🙏

PPS they should have asked Bobcat Goldthwaite.
