Surrey v Durham CC 2025

As is stands the arrogance from Surrey is biting them on the arse

It’s lovely to see, but let’s be honest, we’d be furious if Durham had been in their position and done the same. They were 612-4 after 130 overs, we’d have needed to score 463 just to avoid the follow-on, IMO they had enough at that point. Instead they batter for another 30 overs, basically a session, it’s brilliant to know that they’ve thrown away any chance of winning the game by doing so. I reckon @TheRey will be apoplectic.

Main story however is how utterly sh*te the Kookaburra experiment is.
A more than excellent effort to be no wickets down at tea. Gay very hot and cold but when he's on form it's great to watch. Serves Surrey right for over batting.

He’s been brilliant here, his stroke-making is as pleasing on the eye as Ned Larkins used to be - perhaps fittingly this week. Fair play to him, he’s had his critics, hopefully he can kick on from here. Admittedly he’s taken advantage of some very aggressive fields but so what, you’ve still got to score them.

Great effort by these lads .... would never allow Surrey an early finish ... at 226 for none we should bat on and tell them we are chasing our record score !!

Aye, after they made our lads chase leather for five sessions and 800+ runs we should keep the bastards out there til the last.

Sam Curran bowling spin, shows how pathetic this ball is. Bairstow last week bowling too

2 poor efforts from the last 2 opponents really.

Yep, Sussex and Surrey both ultra negative and both killed the kookaburra games.

Worst part is, we’ve got another two games to get through with this heap of crap and we’re going to be a little bit closer to the chasing pack with Yorkshire winning and Worcestershire gaining points on us.

I'd be furious if Durham batted on that long. Pure arrogance from Surrey and it's backfired.

Well done to Durham, lads deserve a lot of credit

Absolutely, I didn’t want to say much at the end of Day 2 as I didn’t want to jinx the lads, but I’m so pleased the game has petered out into such a dull and inevitable draw.

There’s no way a Ryan Campbell team would’ve done something as ridiculous as that. As I say, they could’ve declared a session earlier to attempt to truly force a result and they’d have still had plenty of runs to rule out the chance of a defeat.

Anyway, there it is, Lees hundred, handshakes alround. Durham take 11 points from the game.
