I’d say they are a much better club as a base to stay and belong in the premier league than say the other yo yo clubs. We don’t need to be concerned with them until match day

Brilliant.My Nana (from Southwick) was a great cook and she called them ‘batter puddings’ (she moved south to work in a big house as a cook, married a Sunderland lad down in Surrey and had my dad… and hence why I’ve been a Sunderland fan since I was a foetus).
And she never called them Yorkshires. I asked her why once and she said why would she? They weren’t from Yorkshire, everyone made them and so batter pudding it was. No idea if anyone else’s family calls them that.
Sorry, gone off thread here I know (!) but discussing local delicacies has always been a thing on RTG.

Spent quite a bit of time in W.Yorks in 2023...Some of their fans are okay,but close your eyes and you could be listening to the gravy lovers when they get going...Massive chip on their shoulders,entitled,their fan base cannot be matched,their history,...blah blah blah.Yes,they won the league in 1992,fair play,but Leicester City have won quite a lot more since then and look where they are now....At least our support (in the main) are realistic,honest about our immediate chances in the Premier League and remain humble...But this lot and Newcastle are so similar....Would love to see both of them fail,would be hilarious.

Before the war? You've never averaged over 39752 over a season in your entire history man, not when you had your successful period, with Wilko or when you were in the CL. I suppose that has nothing to do with the demographics around Leeds, Wakefield, Harrogate and the perchance for other sports? You've always been restricted by ground size, even when you could basically put as many as you like through the turnstiles
We've done it 14 times in the last 25 years BTW without even going back to the 50s and 60s.
And yes we've been shit and down to L1, just like you have.

Why on earth would that bother us? They've sold their souls for money and are now an active money laundering business for the Saudi royal family. It's not as if they're doing well on merit alone now is it?

I lived in Yorkshire for years. My nickname was Geordie (again not true) and I'm from Durham so don't consider myself a Geordie nor do I have a strong accent.

As far us being far behind Newcastle for the moment, don’t think you will find many on here that would argue against that. I guess that’s what £750M of Saudi money will do eh.

I’m intrigued to see what plans our owners have, they certainly seem to be thinking big and are convincing top players that this is place to come. Time will tell I suppose.
As for your club, I haven’t got any feelings either way but there seems to be only two clubs where the majority of supporters that come on here, seek to antagonize. That’s you lot and Boro.
There’s some cracking posters on here from so many other clubs. They come on here for debate and discussion and add positively to the board because of that. It’s one of the elements that makes this board so popular.
Yes and to add to trophies, stadium and training facilities, bigger fan base…….there is nothing about Leeds better than Sunderland. Not one thing !

A great uncle of mine was one of the submariners who piloted one of the midget subs that blew up the German warship Tirpitz in Norway using limpet mines.
A book was written about it – Above Us The Waves – in which he appeared as ‘Geordie Worthy’. But he very much was a Sunderland (Hendon) boy not from Newcastle. It’s just wasn’t a big deal then, I guess, and way before ‘Mackem’ became popular.
It was later made into a hit film, starring Sir John Mills. But sadly poor old ‘Geordie’ wasn’t featured in it.
