Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

Engine room requires engines. Henderson current club clearly don't think hid engine is up to task and are willing to cut him loose, which is no surprise at his age. The PL is is a much more unforgiving league than the one he's currently in. As I've already said, our lads are a determined bunch, who have proved leadership and a togethernes already....They're not lost little boys.

As for being a current international, let's see if he gets regular game time in that squad. I'm happy to bet a few pints that he doesn't. He didn't exactly pull up any trees against Andorra or proved that he is still a shoe in for the side.

You'll not admit it, but if the lad didn't have Sunderland links, you'd be as sceptical of the move as a few others are, who are thinking if a 35yr old Henderson would really make a difference on the pitch.
So much wrong with this post it's hard to know where to start.

Ajax had no issue with his 'engine'

The Prem is unforgiving. That's why you need calm heads and experience, and players with excellent ball retention skills. That's Jordan Henderson.

Our senior midfielder is Dan Neil, and I've seen him look like a lost little boy enough in the Championship, never mind the Prem. He'd absolutely benefit from a voice of experience in his ear, on the pitch, keeping him right.

To be honest, I'm not even arsed about the Sunderland link. It's an added bonus - we have that connection. But from an objective point of view, you have a former Liverpool captain who has won everything club football has to offer, an England stalwart, and in my opinion has been a world class player in his position over a long period of time. That is not a CV to be sniffed at. The only reason his roots come into it is because it might just give us the edge in bringing a player of that experience and calibre in.
45 games last season, but apparently has 'engine' trouble.

I posted this further back but to support your point, these are his touches in various areas of the pitch from last season. Obviously the Premier is a step up in quality, but there's nothing to suggest he doesn't still have an engine. He's getting tonnes of touches all over the park

88 percentile for touches in his own box
91 for defensive 3rd
99 for middle 3rd
75 attacking 3rd

Edit. You can also throw him being 99 percentile for total ball carrying distance and number of carries too

Sky seemed to talk about marseille not Notts forest in their little transfer zone 5min ago.
He may also fancy still playing in Europe rather than signing back for sunderland in a likely relgation battle, ahead of next years world cup

I remember some proper financial shenanigans under the Murray regime allegedly involving The manager PR, and finance director Mark Blackbourne
I was only young around that time and know nothing about that TBH
If he signed for Forest or Marseille he can go and do one but that also shows that he is wanted by a team doing ok in the prem regarding Forest for everyone who thinks he's finished and it is just a nostalgic move from us
