No doubt he’s had a resurgence last 2-3 years but he’s 34. Unless he’s Ronaldo his eyesights not gonna better and neither are his reflexes. Anyone who’s passed their mid-30s knows this is when the body starts to betray you. Though granted his technique will compensate for some of that since he’s not exactly a see-ball-hit-ball kinda guy

Of course, he’s in the second half of his career. But a resurgence is a bit unfair!

Didn’t you get a thread locked last week because you were twisting about people being personal?

You’re responsible for the majority of arguments and bickering on this forum, and are the very definition of giving it but not being able to take it. The amount of people who have you on ignore speaks volumes.

His catching has certainly been impacted by his eyesight not being what it was. But no real evidence it has with his batting.

I think it's more of a case of does Root want to play on when he's 37. Feels like he might need to play into 2028 to get past Tendulkar.

I reckon he might retire after the World Cup in 2027 as he'll just be about to turn 37 then.

Think it will depend how close he is. A strong 18 months and then will see

I remember Roger Binny in that 83 World Cup final when they beat the peak windies
