Eng vs India - First Test - 20th-24th June

Missed that and I think he was out there off bash

But that was huggge by pant

300 for 3

Getting to the stage of reminding me when Gower inserted Australia in the 80s here and they were 320 odd for 1 at stumps

Reactions: Boo

We all suspected at the start of play that our attack looked innocuous. And what do you know?
England have stuck at it and the team has retained its shape in the field. But this is miserable stuff.
Of course, the wicket will look entirely changed when Bumrah bowls on it.

Will they enforce the follow on ?

We always start a series slow at home

Neebody plays any red ball for months on end so this is like we are a touring side in the field

You have to at least take 7 on a first day to justify inserting

This is now confirmed a bad decision

If we get them out for less than 500 I’ll be surprised

Very early days, but bowling looks a bit weak. Hoping Woakes is just rusty but jury is out on flat pitches. Tongue has been unconvincing. Bashir is bowling well to his credit.

It’s a long summer, so time to turn it around mind. Plus Atkinson, Archer, Wood to hopefully come in.
If all of those last 3 are for for the Ashes, then 2 of them will play every test alongside
Carse, Stokes, Potts Woakes

I'm worried that even if this pitch is flat it won't be a draw unless weather intervenes, England will try and match indias total as quick as possible or be bowled out scoring quick in sub 70 overs.
India will be batting by end of day 3

Bear in mind, Sir Andrew thinks we should play less red ball cricket
I think this is more to do with the pitch and the quality of their batsman as opposed to the quality of our bowlers, than more or less red ball cricket.

Both their batsman have just got centuries after two full months playing T20 in the IPL.

So don’t think we have that excuse
