I'd said way back on this thread, this new bridge is near as makes no difference the same width as roker pier.
The pier walkway is exactly 35 ft wide, which is around 10.5 meters, the perspective you get is maybe a little different as the railings on the pier are offset from the edge.
In which way will it make no difference? It's virtually a traffic-free route from the city centre to the stadium which from a safety perspective is a big thing (see the thread about the Liverpool driver about dangerous traffic around Sheepfolds after the match). Not having to close lanes on the town bridge off will also have a big effect on traffic flow for public transport so even people who aren't going to the match will benefit.
Is that the bridge that the public had to pick a name for but the Council gave us three names to pick from. So it's actually a name the Council have chose.
I keep checking your channel whens your next drone vid coming! This has popped up on my FB memories from a year ago. Amazing how much stuff has happened in that time. The bridge, Eye Infirmary and Culture House have shot up.

I seem to recall at the planning permission stage, one of the factors was the effect that closing lanes on the Wearmouth bridge has on transport on match days. My memory is a bit hazy though, it might just be that was what people talked when it was first suggested.Any news on whether they’ll still be closing lanes on Wearmouth bridge or will this negate that need?
Let’s hope so! That would be great news if so.I seem to recall at the planning permission stage, one of the factors was the effect that closing lanes on the Wearmouth bridge has on transport on match days. So anyway, avoiding closing those lanes was always a selling point so I don't think any lanes will be closed any more.
No handrailWhat makes you say that ,
Grow up Vinegar ladI’ll let ivery fucker walk ower it first before I gan ower
I might be jumping to conclusions here, but I presume the bridge has been designed by qualified engineers who know they're doing.I’ll let ivery fucker walk ower it first before I gan ower
I dinnit like walking over the town bridge. Always thought the railings too short.I’ll let ivery fucker walk ower it first before I gan ower
