SOL expansion

One man's negativity is another man's realistic forward planning.

People have been saying for years that we should never have extended to 49k. I disagree (I think 49k is a good size for when we're in our usual post war sort of peak position), but it's not necessarily negative to suggest we shouldn't add another 10k to the capacity.

They might.
So you don’t think looking at extending the offering, improving the stadium and increasing availability of seating and increasing revenue isn’t realistic forward planning.

I notice any mention of the new hospitality you’re all over it being negative despite it having no impact on you. I find it bizarre that you’re concerned with what others are willing to spend going to watch a match.

If they are going to build any hospitality it will be a stand extension. Absolutely no other way to do it.
It's not ridiculous if their planning on being ambitious.
Crazy ain’t. Sick of the “little old Sunderland” mentality of posters.

Let’s not bother eh.

We stand still, we go backwards

It’ll have been prep for the gigs this weekend. I drive past most days for work and never notice owt out of the ordinary happening there.
Didn't think about the gigs this week. However, I have invites to numerous business events/talk/seminars that are held there so the conferencing facilities that they have must be adding some revenue. Never been invited to a work based event at the SoL (I work in the IT industry).

They will build a stand. It’s that simple.

Who says it will drop? Cannot stand the negativity of our fan base like.

But at the minute we only need to offer maybe another 2,000 seats for corporate.

An extended East Stand would be at least another 10,000 regular seats if it mirrored the Monty Stand. Thousands of seats we don't need other than concerts.

Maybe there is a way they can extend the East Stand without the thousands of regular seats.

It’s not negative to be realistic though. I think everyone would hope we’ll be successful enough to be fill a 55k or even 63k stadium regularly.

Everyone should be ambitious to want that, but not daft enough to ignore that it’s only a few years since we closed an entire section of the ground.

I bet they could, the stadium would look shit though

That was when we were in league one.
Are we planning on going back there anytime soon?

Wasting your time mate just be glad we have people with different views in charge

The reason why we dont expand is because the crowd sizes show it isnt needed

Lest we forget we had a game in 2025 with two sides of the stadium shut off

And we call Newcastle fans "delusional"
No need for the personal insults as my post didn’t require that.

Additionally, the north stand also houses home support in the NW corner so your post was even more nonsensical.

There is no need whatsoever to belittle our support. Given the past 80 years it is the best in world football imho.

Would it not be possible to mirror the West stand but instead of 27 rows of seats like the Premier concourse have maybe 2 rows of boxes and a 3 row of a premium bar then only something like 12 rows of seats above them.
Much needed additional hospitality and a few thousand extra seats, something like 55,000 capacity.
