.. Wonder how many who watch it that way would actually pay to watch it on Sky or BT if the IPTV option wasn't there. Many just want to watch there own club. I've just got shot of it ..

The style of football is boring

Even though liverpool won the league even their style isnt as exciting to watch as it was under Klopp

Premier league is meant to be fast and furious in comparison to other european leagues, but it isnt anymore, a lot of Guardiola disciples in management now trying to copy his style
 
Symptomatic of the cost of living crisis, with Sky hiking their subs year on year, IPTV for a fraction of SS cost and watching helplessly as the rich teams get ever more money thrown at them.

It's likely that multiple EPL teams will spend more on a single player, than we can afford to overhaul the whole squad. The playing field has a massive slope on it and it's ruining the game.

Same thing happening in the last few weeks with City, Chelsea and Liverpool doling out the dosh, there’s just too much of an imbalance

The game has changed with pitches like snooker tables taking out the chance of a bad bounce (and VAR removing the negation of skill and ability by brute force)

But still think that modern football is more predictable and less exciting than it was 20/30 years ago (but now sounding like my dad was when banging on about Shack)

And this is before you get on to all the dodgy money being focussed on a handful of clubs who then dominate for years- first Chelski, then Abu Dhabi City and probably next the Saudis after they hire the right lawyers…

That's a good point, just how many people actually watch Bournemouth v Brentford? They are tiny clubs support wise and I just can't see them having the same pull as us or Leeds.
 
It's not competitive and the product itself is boring. No surprise.

I think there's a tactical change coming though which might liven things up. PepBall is dead.
 
£50 a year for a dodgy stick or £70 per month for sky ?? Not hard is it.... I've got sky but never pay full price for it.

Those who have a dodgy stick won't fork out for sky though if they shut iptv down. The only way forward is the supposed premier league ran official iptv for day £10-20 per month.
 
Tbf, didn't really bother watching much premier league games last season. Even the so called big games were a bit meh.

Tbf, why would you keep watching random games when the relegation battle & title are wrapped up months before the end.

Last game of the season what are you watching, Everton vs, the Mags because one might get champions league?

However you certainly can argue that happened as a result of various rule changes (5 subs being the obvious one to me). Yet despite that I doubt it’ll be quite that cut and dry this season - so I expect figures to rise a bit more.

Also doesn't help that the relegation places are so nearly uncontested now. If there's not a big title race going on, very few neutrals really care about which clubs get into which European competition. Relegation battles are much more "exciting" and last season had nowt approaching one, it was obvious who was going down almost from about two months in. It's becoming stale and fewer people will pay for it if that keeps up

Yes, that's me too.

The Championship really is a much more exciting as a competition. The interest is held to the end by the playoffs, relegations usually not sorted until the last day of tthe season. And the 'anybody can beat anybody', at least on a good day.

(I'm NOT saying for a second that I'm not 100% over the moon to be promoted. I much prefer us to be playing at the highest level.)
 
Well colour me surprised. It’s almost like hand wringing posts on social media aren’t enough to keep the boat afloat. All the do-gooders on here who rush to the defence of the game should hang their head in shame
