His contribution over the play offs took us up man. He's already paid a huge chunk of his fee back.Agreed and he has a lot to do before he's worthy of the status placed upon in this thread. We'll see.

Why would we play hardball when the transfer was already agreed including how much we'd pay if we went up. He was the managers pick and boy did it pay off. He'll now build a team around him same as he did at Lorient.
You sound American with your 'guess', another problem with the modern world. It's "reckon" where I come from.
Reckon you do not understand the definition of: "largely passed him by". Enzo had 16 touches of the ball first half.
Johnny Gently,
This isn't productive. We're gonna have to leave it there.
Surely we couldn't when the fee had already been agreed when we took him on loan?Think we could have played hard ball and paid a bit less. Roma must be laughing they got their money back.
In January we could have. Roma were desperate to get rid and the fact he came to the Championship suggests there wasn't many clubs interested. I know we're only talking a few million but to us that's important.Surely we couldn't when the fee had already been agreed when we took him on loan?

Fair enough. I thought you meant now, when he signed permanently. In January we could have. Roma were desperate to get rid and the fact he came to the Championship suggests there wasn't many clubs interested. I know we're only talking a few million but to us that's important.

It was his relationship with RLB that got him here I believe, It was a deal that no one could believe we pulled off. There'd have been plenty of clubs interested , but Speakman and KLD pulled off a bit of a coup imho.In January we could have. Roma were desperate to get rid and the fact he came to the Championship suggests there wasn't many clubs interested. I know we're only talking a few million but to us that's important.

Nobody interested? He had offers from a top league Spanish side and a top league French side but turned them both down to sign for his mentor Regis Le Bris. Maybe you should do a little research before you make a fool of yourself. In January we could have. A very good summation of the final and interesting points about Le Bris not wanting to disrupt the way we played earlier in the season. It's clear that Le Bris was impressed with Neil, who he made captain, Roberts, Jobe and Rigg which is probably why he played Le Fee on the wing a lot. It worked and the team gelled in the play offs. Next season I think Le Bris will play Enzo where he's most effective in a CAM 10 role in front of Henderson hopefully. This is a big thing I think a lot of people miss.
Obviously Le Fee played out of position for the most part on the left.
But even when he played central the way we played was not built round him.
It was clear RLB was not going to change the way the team is drilled part way through season, which for me is get the ball out wide and not lose possession in central areas. But if we are going to maximise Le Fee we are going to play through the lines/ through the middle more.
Arguably the first Wembley goal came that way, both Isidor and Mayenda play better off the shoulder with their pace and Le Fees vision and passing is off the scale.
But we have to get it to him in advanced positions quickly, much quicker than we do now as we methodically work the ball out wide for overlaps and coming inside.
Just a view which someone more technical can probably pull apart.
Look the first half was not impressive for the team. We did not find Le Fee or Mayenda the whole half.
A lot of that was credit to Sheff Utd and a lot of it was our insistence on going wide the whole time when Mundle was struggling and it isn’t Riggs game.
There is no doubt that in the second half we started to mix the game up more and Le Fee came into it. Once they put Roberts on Le Fee came right into it and was pivotal in the win.
Players who win games don’t always stand out for 90 minutes
It's because they gambled on us going up and won.I think it will increase too. It's just that a club usually takes a loss on a flop. Roma have done well not doing so.

Over-egged. He picked the ball up and made a standard pass into a Roberts in acres of space that a Northern League player would make with ease 100 times out of 100.
It was Roberts' ball into Mayenda that was the much better ball and opened up Sheffield.
As said, Le Fee was here for 4 months and injured for a quarter of that period. He did ok all things considered but no more than that.
We'll see how he goes next season. 'Jury's out. Hopefully he'll be much better for getting a few months under his belt and having a better grasp of playing English football.
Comparing Enzo to a Northern league player now, crikey. I doubt the lad could have done much more given he was injured as much as he played. The corner he put in for big Dan against Coventry was almost worth his wages for the 5 months he was here. Your assessment of the lad is so wide of the mark, you have to be trolling.Over-egged. It's funny you would say that because I can say with 99% certainty Dan Neil wouldn't have played that pass that quickly.Over-egged. He picked the ball up and made a standard pass into a Roberts in acres of space that a Northern League player would make with ease 100 times out of 100.

....took the words right out of my mouth. I posted after Wembley that 'that' pass from Le Fee to Roberts is what seperates the top players to average. It's instinct. It's funny you would say that because I can say with 99% certainty Dan Neil wouldn't have played that pass that quickly.
“Bonjour mon ami, Wembley et Prem?”He had other interest in January, he said himself recently he was close to a move elsewhere until Regis text him.
Or, you get a £20m player on a six month trial first. The problem with signing loanees is that we fork out £20m and still don't improve the team.
I think you’re over-simplifying it mate. It took two players out instantly and was perfectly into Roberts’ stride with space to work with. From that moment, Mayenda is on his bike.Over-egged.
