Chomp, I'll bite.Hmmm, struggled at times, quite a lot of the time, in the second division. Wouldn't be too disappointed if this one goes to shite and he goes back to Italy.
Always the chance that it's a first season adapting to a different style of football and he will be much better next season, happened to many a very good footballer, but on the evidence we've seen so far, nothing special.
So after being out of the running at his current club and having VERY limited minutes at all during the first half of the season he turns up in a new country he's never played in, playing with brand new teammates, most of whom are even younger than him and while, at his new managers own admittance only a maximum of 75% fit. He then is dropped almost instantly into the first team set up, but not in his favoured position rather covering for an injured member of the squad. He then picks up a hamstring injury, probably due to not been fully fit or upto speed in one of the toughest leagues in Europa if not the world in terms of intensity and physicality, which means he's out for a number of weeks. However he works hard to get back to fitness to make himself available to play and then steers us to a play off final taking the last corner in the 2nd leg which results in a late late goal. He follows this up by being involved in some capacity in both goals in the final to see his new team promoted to the top flight of English football for the first time in nearly a decade of being in the football wilderness.
But aye he's shown nowt to make it look like he's worth keeping. I bet your lass struggles to put a dinner on the table that puts a smile on your face.
