Depends what you class as luck really - maybe rode close to the line at times, with VAR/Patto saves but you need it to be your day, and it was definitely our daySunderland are luckyIt’s called taking your chances.

It definitely was our day. Patto made 2 great saves but the one he made with his legs would have been disallowed because the Sheff Utd player handled. The VAR goal was lazy play by Sheff Utd.
I know that’s what you’ll all think and hang onto but it won’t happen. We have very shrewd ownership now. Boro fans said we would be mid table by Christmas and when we drew a few, that was the fall started. The vast majority of you were totally wrong. And will be again. However at least you came back here so fair play.

To be fair it is probably a bit of a kick in the teeth for them when we are relative “newcomers” to the division ( compared to them ) and we assemble a team that get promoted above a parachute team in a play off final on a relative shoestring .
Many of their fans were saying they had a much better squad on paper -also that Coventry would beat us -then Sheffield
Now it’s we will get battered in Prem ( maybe we will) and Le Fee is not worth 20 million.( peanuts in the Prem )
But our “unheard “of manager and never say die attitude has probably made it a very difficult season for them ( we are their nearest club -or were -now it’s the Sheffield teams or Hull?)
They have underperformed where maybe we have over performed -it’s not a fluke over 46 or however many games though .
I’m not sure we generally get the credit we deserve across the board -not long ago we had 4 seasons in the third tier ..now it’s the Prem and all the money that comes with it .
Been a surprising and amazing season …if we do go straight back down we will be in a better position financially
Personally with this set of players and our recruitment with the obvious togetherness I wouldn’t be shocked with us still being there past next season .

I don't class a keeper making a cracking save as luck. Without VAR then maybe their second would have been given but it would have been Sheff Utd who were lucky in that case.

First fact you've ever posted on here. Which head did you use left or right? Whichever it was use it more often.
I love them. I was once driving back to teesside and the radio changed stations. Alastair Brownlee (Rip) top man and I had alot of time for him. But he was commenting on the Boro vs Chelsea match and he's going on boro are magnificent the best team today playing great stuff the boro here at the riverside. I was thinking oh boro must be winning, he then goes the score is still Boro 0 chelsea 5. I nearly crashed laughing and this sums them up they are all like Brownlee.Not a fan?
