Tommy Watson

My opinion on him has not changed, I would have never jumped shipped from this club so quickly, the opposite actually, I'd give me teeth to play for it.

Brilliant goal which makes the situation all the more sad, he could have gone down as our greatest player with the amount of skill he has. I have watched him since he was 7 or so and have no doubt he'll be playing regularly for England, he's in the top 5 best youth players I have seen for us.

There is no better place for his development than here. He'll might even get loaned back to us next season as opportunities will be limited at Brighton.

Been trying to remember which goal his today reminded me of. Couldn't put my finger on it until now. f***ing Gelhardt of all people against I think Huddersfield, hit low and around the defender from outside the box

I hope all that have slagged him off are hanging their heads tonight.
What a boy, he's a Sunderland fan, his family are Sunderland through and through. Best of luck to the kid
We have nothing to be ashamed about, nobody said he was a bad player, we criticised him for jumping ship from his own club at the first opportunity then for playing 2 of the lowest effort performances I have seen in a long time from a SAFC player.

A through and through fan means he would die on his feet for the club, not try and protect himself for his move. I get that he had to move eventually, at least if we were still in the championship, but I don't see how you can be through and through then jump ship at the first offer.

I'm trying to be objective but I cannot see a scenario where if I were a young lad playing my first 15 games for SAFC that I would leave, I'd be living the dream, my goal would be to become a legend in my home town or at least serve my club for a few seasons while I develop, then move on.

I just don't see him as a massive fan of SAFC, even looking at his interview after scoring the winner he wasn't that passionate, I would have been crying like a baby.

He is absolutely gorgeous.

Bollocks. Absolute cack. He’s a massive lads fan and somebody who is ambitious as fuck and maybe hungry for money. Like many of us.

Shameful

All I can say is thank yo

I wasn't there today but 40 odd thousand Sunderland fans thank you for your service and that goal.

I hope your career is long and fruitful.

Haway the lads 😍😍
