I have to go to London once a week these days.
I have no idea why so many people love it or aim to be there. Most of the residential areas I have been in are pretty grim.
Good parts are really good.
Bad parts are really bad.
Parks, Museums, Galleries & cultural events second to none. Love wandering late evening when a bit quieter and stopping at the numerous statues to read who they were, what they did etc.
Each to their own preference but my favourite city. Have worked there a few times and really enjoyed it.

I suppose when I go there for work, it is just get off at a busy train station and get onto the tube. Leave tube station and walk down the road a bit where I can admire some grim looking flats, vape shops, and other run down looking local businesses, get into work. Finish work, repeat in reverse, get back to a small quiet town surrounded by fields and coast.
I don't really get to enjoy the best of it, but the parks are pretty nice. All the places friends have lived have not been that nice outside.
