Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

The problem isn’t about Watson.
The problem is the announcement.
Whoever thought it was a good idea to announce this signing with 6 plus games left need a good kick in the bollocks. Mundle was always going to get injured especially when this was announced. Has made his time left incredibly difficult.
The club are f***ing childlike in the running of it.
Has it been announced that we were the ones that decided to announce it?

Wasn’t the first chance he has had to leave like, maybe was partially for money but has also moved to a club who are unfortunately quite a bit ahead of us at the moment. As for loyalty, well the club didn’t have to sell him, they could have held him to the contract he signed, would the club have been loyal to him if he wasn’t good enough? Answer is no they would have just released him no matter how long he has been here

Or maybe the deal they were offering him at 17 was shite?

Mad that they have been trying non stop for years to get him when the smb have told everyone he is crap, only after he has agreed to move they have decided this tho

Had no chance what so ever of winning that ball and if it was not for the fact he is moving nobody would have gave it a second glance
Rubbish! . Any "Professional" should be giving his all in contesting a challenge, any challenge, not worrying about getting hurt.

The news was already floating around in the public domain.
I think I saw it on here, I think it was from a relative or a family friend. never paid much attention to it.
It is an issue with players who have a large and or a close family. very difficult decision for the lad but wish him well.
Again, thought the boos were unnecessary on saturday, but once that info was in the public domain then best to be open and honest

He couldn’t win the ball man. It was right next to me. If it was anyone else it wouldn’t have even been mentioned
It was very clear from where I sit too. He may not of won the ball but that does not allow him to not make any effort to put the Swansea player under pressure. As for any other player and I've no axe to grind against Watson, far from it and there certainly were others who did exactly the same i.e. not challenging for a 50/50 ball.

Might get pelters for this but he should be no where near the 1st team when he's leaving in the summer, fair play to the lad but get someone from the u21 that's going to be hear past the summer. Unless he scores the winner down Wembley of we get there haha

I wonder if they promised the same to Josh Robertson who is older than Watson, been there a year and last seen in and out of their U21s and nowhere near their first team. Watson has ability but has been inconsistent for us in the brief appearances he has had. He may well get to Premier standard but he is in a mad rush and if he looks at the example of similar prospects in Hugill, Greenwood and others he will see that development can easily stall.

You really have to wonder what they are basing their conclusions on

Don't get me wrong he's clearly talented, but unless they have access to our training data, or someone feeding them insights, all they have to go off is u21 games, where's he's looked very good (though so did Bennette) admittedly and then a handful of senior appearances where's he's shown flashes of quality but otherwise demonstrated he's not quite there yet to be number 1 choice for s top level championship team.
I have no hard feeling sand wish him luck, but if he gets there and he's not what they expect out of the gate he's be straight into the u21s and then looking for loans in January to the championship.

I get the vibes of Jack Clarke's transfer to Tottenham. Obvious talent but bought too early when the club didn't really know what to do with him. Which set back his career by about two years really, until he dropped down to league one with us. I do think Brighton are run better than Tottenham were tbh in this regard.
