Attendance Thread - Coventry City (Play-Off 2nd Leg)

You do wonder how old they are mind. When you get over a certain age worrying about how many people go watch a football match becomes a bit trivial. No one give a shite at roker park or when the Sol first opened it seems to be a newish thing over the past 15/20’years. I guess it’s since the internet took off so fans can have pissing contests about numbers.
I mean don't get me wrong, say we got 40k plus for a match you might say to a mate canny crowd mind, but this whole thing about elevating how many people are there to being really important and worse still comparing our attendances to that of other clubs is bloody tragic, means nowt, fuck all

Hopefully it’s a passionate crowd that stays till the very end and the early leaver casuals aren’t part of it then
Makes absolutely no difference whatsoever! We got to Wembley in league 1 with loads of empty seats in play off semi and same with league cup final. It’s up to the players to perform. The one thing that has been consistently brilliant about the club over the years is the fans. Because someone leaves 5 minutes early doesn’t change them from a good fan to a bad one

I was calm and not really minding one way another until I read the Bristol City Vs Sheff Utd build up. Not even our game and it stressed me out.

I’ll be a shouty mess come kick off on the 13th like. Haway the lads. Give us a chance

It does for me. How can you call yourself a good supporter if you leave as soon as the result looks to not be going your way? Hardly 'sunderland till i die' attitude is it? Let alone the message it sends to the players.

The league 1 semi final against Sheffield Wednesday is the record attendance for a play-off semi final.

Do you go to every home game?
Do you go to every away game?
Do you plan your holidays around Sunderland pre season games and go to them?

So you reckon the supporter who does all of those things but leaves the odd early is a bit shit but those that go to most home games only but stay to the end are STID?

Probably another thousand will go before tomorrow night, the rest will depend on the result at their place

We are probably looking at 41,000 + before tomorrow nights game then rightly or wrongly it will depend on the result with the last few thousand.

Even with a 1-0 defeat we are still in the tie and should sell a few more.

I dont go to every game. I go to the games that I can go to and when I do go, I support the team. The clue is in the word 'supporter'. And yes i do think anyone that leaves early (regularly) is a bit shit. It's the same people that leave early every time, not just the 'odd' game.

The SOL was packed for years, and Roker and SoL never had the early leaver cancer we currently have
I’ve stood in many less than sold out roker crowds and many people dodged off early just wasn’t as noticeable.

I think there’s still a fair few that haven’t bought yet like I’m still waiting for the can you help me messages from friends and family.
