Two Bob owners

Nailed it. Should have sold up after the mags game hence the reason why hes been in hiding ever since.

Had 2 windows in 3 seasons where weve gone into a January window in a great position but needed backing and hes failed to do so both times.

The Mags protested over less from Ashley.

Weird how you praise short who threw money at it and not KLD who seemingly has a plan and knows how he wants to run a football club, weird that!
We know nothing about KLD's plans now financial stability has been achieved. He should be applauded for that much but what his intention is now that expectations are rightly being raised, is anyone's guess.
We'll find out soon enough.
If it doesn't match what this supporter base thoroughly deserves (stable PL) then we have a major problem.

This ongoing love for Short ('he was let down by the people around him') is just really weird, and always has been.

When Ellis Short took over, we were established in the Premier League. When he left, he had taken the parachute payments and we were in League One.

When Louis-Dreyfus took over, we were still in League One. We're now in the playoff places of the Championship. And still recovering from the damage of Ellis Short.

I don't like or trust Louis-Dreyfus, or frankly any football club owner. I don't like 'the model', I don't like many of the decisions he has made, especially on managers.

But FFS, there is no comparison between what the two of them have done there. It's as if the only criterion against which you judge club owners is how much of their money they waste.
I am far from a ellis short fan, but the op speaks the truth about the folks he got to be in charge of his club, the clubs troubles started the day quinny left, i am sure of it, the last decade has been like a roller coaster, which at the moment seems to be stuck some how.

Can't disagree with the OP. KLD Is a billionaire but he insists on this model of getting young players in for peanuts and selling them on for profit. We deserve better
I’m actually not convinced KLD is a billionaire, the family is worth 4 billion according to Forbes , speculation previously was 6-7 billion, but as an individual there is no evidence he has 1 or 2 billion.

Yeah we’re only scraping survival by 18 places this season
This will wear thin very quickly.
40 thousand plus home gates every single week and consistent sold out away allocation.
I, like some on here, happen to think this club is better than Championship. Let's face it, it's a crap league overall.

I’ve said this to many people over the years, Short never truly committed to a manager, bar possibly Bruce.

Every manager was afforded the opportunity to bring in some players they wanted, but then had to make do and mend with some cheap squad filler.

He allowed a situation where the DoF signed some players and the manager got what they wanted in other instances; there was no clear direction.

His tenure was a total clusterfuck imo; 8 or 9 years in the prem but largely utter shite.

I have no time for him.

Plus, allegedly, the deal to Donald only went through (after an initial rejection) because by all accounts he said to the EFL that it either goes through or he’ll let us go to the wall.

It was widely reported that KLD and his twin had trust funds maturing on their birthdays xmas 2023 of 2.5 bil each.set up by their Dad .

He's sold the club regardless of which league we're in next season anyway hasn't he?

All hail our newest incoming overlords 😆

All of my life we have seemed comfortable as a top of tier 2 level club/bottom of tier 1 level club. So where we are now is our natural place in the hierarchy. We are well above that in terms of support mind. Regional history and football tradition explains that as well as being a one club city. What’s really weird though is that we haven’t had our moment in the sun for 50 years. We haven’t been Europe for 50 years.
In terms of owners, none have broken the ‘next level’ ceiling. They all looked like they might (with the obvious L1 exception) but couldn’t do it. I think the current ownership and the model will struggle to do that as well.

Thats all we’ve ever had..
The only one who invested any kind of decent money was Short but put muppets in charge of it.
Never willing to take the next step and change us from the so called sleeping giant to a club that can hold its own. A brief flirt under Reid in my 45 years as a supporter is pathetic.
We’re so used to watching shite we over exaggerate the talents of anyone who shows a glimpse of anything near being any good.
Rigg isn’t going to set the world alight nor Bellingham either. They’re just decent that’s all.
This club deserves better than the penny pinching swindlers we’ve had in the past. It’s a crime that we’ve struggled so badly for the last 50 years.
If by a miracle we triumph in the play offs this owner will shit himself and we’ll be the whipping boys of nxt years premier league.
I agree other than your assessment of Rigg and Bellingham. 17 and 19 respectively and they’re first teamers in a team that’s finished fourth in the championship. They’re far from their peak and that peak will seem them as at least top flight players

Not asking him to pump billions..
Just buy some established players that have half a chance to get us out of this shitty league. He has no passion for what he’s doing.

Good, you get promotion. Then what? The ship has sailed mate and until the regs change clubs in our position will only be yo yo teams spending bad money after bad and scrambling to 40 points, unless you hit a purple patch like Forest. Unless you do something different like you are doing.

A few established players can turn into a 250M Fulham/Forest type demand overnight. Before you know it the sensible model you have has gone and you are back in the Championship like before, with the same financial issues as before.

I get the frustration. A club of your size shouldn't be resorting to a model that a provincial club like Brentford used but thats the way it needs to be done because of how the landscape is.
