Gets a team back to back promotions then doesn't manage to do the practically impossible when in the Premier League = shite/failure.

You have to laugh.
How many points do you think he was aiming for at the start of the season?

38? 36? Or 20 odd?

He would have been sacked if he didn't have the previous 2 promotions on his CV.

How many bigger club jobs is he being linked with now?

Sorry but he's done crap this season. You can't dress it up any other way.

I'm not McKenna so I don't know what his realistic aim was. I couldn't tell you about other jobs, and not sure of the relevance.

He stormed through League One and then did fantastic to get Ipswich immediately to automatic promotion in the Championship. Do you agree that was a superb achievement?

He does have the promotions on his CV, Ipswich wouldn't be in the position they are now otherwise. Let's focus on the reality, not hypotheticals.

Alex Palmer is a good keeper and well worth the money they paid.
Unfortunately they had to buy him to replace the £10M keeper the bought in the summer who was hopeless.

The reality is after being very heavily backed in the transfer market, buying more than half a new team he would have been hoping to finish 4th bottom maybe better. He's absolutely nowhere near it.

Of course he's done well previously and he was mentioned in passing for a couple of big jobs earlier in the season. The reality is nobody would be interested in him now because his stock is now very low.

It certainly is hard to keep newly promoted teams up. However, Luton who certainly didn't spend big got 26 points last season which Ipswich are struggling to match. That's poor.

I don't know what his stock is, but I see a talented young manager that has had two excellent seasons and one poor one.

Though I feel his poor one was always going to be a huge ask.

I see a bloke who has bought very poorly and has been far too rigid in playing style. His Ipswich team aren't even near to be in the running to have a chance of staying up.

That's poor and I don't anyone can argue any different.

Two years ago they had a scatter gun approach to recruiting. Seemed to be buying anyone with a heartbeat. Can’t understand how that didn’t work out in the long run.

Forest bought players mainly from other Premier League teams. The likes of Gibbs-White, Neco Williams and Chris Wood (on loan with an obligation to buy). It worked well.

Ipswich bought mainly players from the Championship and it has been a disaster.

how many points do you think le bris will get with the same budget?

If I’m reading this correctly they signed 23 players after promotion to the Championship 2022/23

there is no chance on earth that anywhere near that amount of money will be be spent, you know that and everyone on here knows that

You specifically asked:

how many points do you think le bris will get with the same budget?

@Keith S30S answered how he thought we'd do with a budget of £125m.

Now you're saying he wont get that amount to spend..... so that was a pretty dumb question you asked. 🤔

Gibbs White had spent the last year on loan in the championship with Sheffield United

Not the reality.

Look at Kompany. He’s going to be in demand in the summer. My guess is Spurs

Vincent Kompany was incredibly lucky to get the Bayern job. Completely out of left field that he got it, a bit like Rooney getting the Plymouth job.

1 off them has turned out well but both were probably because they were very high profile players as much as anything.
