Durham v Worcestershire (A) C.C.

Blatherwick played for Lancs v Durham in the ODC at Sedbergh last season iirc. There was some discussion on here about his Lancastrian surname (even though he’s from Nottingham 😁)
I can remember Ken Shuttleworth getting an honourable mention.
Reading the statement on the signing of the two loaners it appears he has been rested for this match.
Wouldnt suprise me -Isn't there some ruling that if you sign a player on loan for say two games then they have to play in them both? *

* Unless they sign for Durham and are inevitably injured in the first five overs of the first game.

Fair play to the management in acting so quick to get in bowling replacements, 3 new bowlers for the Worcs game in one week at least shows we have ambitions to keep our hopes of ending up nearer the top alive. Hope they go well.

Not aware of that particular rule but I can't I imagine the loaning club nor the player agreeing to the loan without some guarantee of selection

There are more considerations than simply competitiveness. If that's the only criteria, then you potentially end up taking money from the Saudies or from the IPL. How you do it should be balanced with how you go about it.
We aren't talking about money in this case with unforeseen injuries you do what you can

Which is literally what he has said, we’ve done what we can, it’s in the rules, everyone else does it, but he doesn’t like the rule.

Not sure what’s so ‘bizarre’ about that opinion that you felt the need to pull him up on it?
