I had a similar reply earlier. I agree Watson was dreadful but for me Hjelde isn’t good enough to be relied upon as a replacement defender. The drop off in quality from our first 11 in whichever position Hjelde is asked to play is really stark.
League 1 standard at best imo

Not sure why he played the full 90 minutes as it looked for all the world that he didn’t want to put the required effort in. Absolutely no threat on the counter and was just a body on the pitch, barely challenged for the ball whenever it came his way.

I think people need to have Hjelde a chance. He's only 21, and centre backs don't tend to get established until a bit later. He only just now getting solid minutes in the tank

In relation to Watson I think his head has completely gone. I don’t think he’s wilfully downed tools I just think the timing of the announcement, his knowledge that he’s now viewed as the villain of the piece, given his age and lack of experience his head has completely gone.
I wouldn’t play him again and to do so isn’t doing anyone any favours. In fact he looks such a shell of a player that if he were put through on goal I think he’d trip over the ball and land in a heap on his backside.

Probably an unpopular opinion but why the hell did we not wait until the season had finished before sorting the deal with Brighton or at least wait to announce it after the season was wrapped up.
It is turning toxic now because it is out in the open with games still to play.
