UFO's

Maybe watch the interview and what comes next. They are not saying what this is as they don't know, they are going to report the data and an invite peer research and help to understand what this is.
And that’s fine. There are things we don’t yet understand or know about. But it’s silly to have aliens as an option.

Silly to discount anything until a specific reason can be provided.

☝️Rational thinking and common sense in action right there.☝️
Sigh….. I spent a while writing down the reasons why we can dismiss aliens visiting this planet. It really isn’t rational to seriously consideraliens visiting Earth. But I suppose millions of people believe in gods so people will believe what they wish.

Discovery of potential life on planet K2-18b. If there is life elsewhere then most other things are possible, to either a greater or lesser extent.
Surely if they’ve got telescopes that can see 7 million light years away they’d of picked up the odd ‘ufo’ that are supposedly fleeing about whilst having a neb.

You'd think wouldn't you

This might be actual aliens, as mentioned above on K2-18b, 124 light years away -

Evidence of plankton analogue !

That's a big leap

Where did we get power from = oil
Where does oil come from = 100s of millions of years of life, dead and subject to specific conditions.

How many planets have that ? The number is tiny and although the universe is vast it's likely these chance events are sparing found across that vastness, having life isn't the issue, it's travelling the incredible distances that can't be overcome.

Telescopes need to focus on targets for hours, sometimes days to gather enough light from targets that far away. The fact UFO’s are fleeting about makes telescopes useless at this.
Besides, all ufo’s have signed non-consent forms, so we’re not allowed to photo them.

This just keeps expanding, years ago things like exoplanets weren't a thing and now pretty much every star has at least one planet orbiting and it many several like our solar system. Life will be everywhere.

We've always had a high opinion of ourselves to think there's just us and nothing else anywhere else, it's ludicrous.

I don't think that's true, I think a lot of the science community are quite hopeful and accepting of the likelihood of life elsewhere. It's the vastness of time and space that make any of us crossing paths as ludicrous.

K2-18b is 729,000,000,000,000 miles away, if we sent a tight beam laser morse code message burst, it would take 124 years to reach it.

If Earth is the only planet with life, and we may never know for sure, then it makes it even more sad that we are rapidly and carelessly bollocksing up the planet. Humans really are pure scum as species go.
Whatever our respective views on UFOs, I think most would agree apart from the false news climate change deniers

That simply is not true though.

There may well be life elsewhere. We may even find compelling evidence to support that idea.

What is not going to happen though is organisms travelling such vast distances. Even detecting light and/or radio waves over such distances takes hundreds, thousands or sometimes millions of years.

The planet mentioned would be currently hearing primitive messages in Morse Code. If they tune in and start listening carefully they'll soon hear the distress SOS signal from the Titanic. It's going to be a long while before they can watch Kylie and Jason on Neighbours.

That planet is within such a tiny, tiny area of the known universe. Even if there were aliens there with space flight technology, and if they lived for a few thousand years, if they were to set off today humans will be long gone before they've even 1% of the way here.
