Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

Well, I think it pretty much points to it tbh. Otherwise, what's the rush? Speakman says we turned them down in Jan, and Tommy wouldn't entertain a new contract.

Signing for a club you can't even play for gives me serious concerns about his commitment for the rest of the season, especially when he's already had a long term injury.
So you don't think a lad from here would want us to go up, plus if his attitude is shit it wouldn't be a good look to his new team is it

Not exactly a good look for his new employers if he's half arsed as well unfortunately whenever he doesn't play well that's what will be labelled at him
To be fair though, last thing they'll want is him flying into tackles or whatever and getting injured. He won't want it, they won't want it. If he doesn't perform brilliantly they'll likely put it down to him keeping himself right for the move, don't think they'd hold it against him. If we're a goal down in a play off I don't think I'd want to see him coming on.

I'm saying I don't think he'll give much of a shit now. We're already a part of his history as from today. He'll not be busting a gut to go up and earn a new contract and his new club will be happy for their new 10m asset not to exert himself too much too.

May aswell start and bed another one of our lads off the production line in instead of playing a lad who's already mentally moved.

I'd like to think he'd be professional and do his most to get his local club promoted more likely to get injured playing half arsed

Fairly dramatic Instagram post for someone with only 15 appearances 🤣

Good luck to the lad. Hopefully we can use that money to secure some new contracts and use it to keep hold of a couple in the Summer. Give it to Riggy and Neil.

It's a good deal all round I think. He's an exciting prospect with could go far and the fee is a drop in the ocean for an established Premier League club. But his contribution to the first team here has been minimal - Sheff United away was his breakout performance, then he scored the two goals against Stoke then got injured. We aren't losing a key player making major contributions to the team and we've at least got a decent fee for him, we aren't losing a young talent for buttons like we used to.

We've bemoaned parachute payments all season. Rightly or wrongly we need to generate revenue to be able to compete without them. I'd rather we sold a player with a handful of games under his belt to do that than someone who'd made a major impact on the team.
Agree.

If selling one of our stars per season means we keep the nucleus of this squad I'm all for it.

We need at least one sale Ike this every year to balance the books.

I wish him well. Next...

Few more to follow him out of the door if we don't go up unfortunately.

Hopefully, in the summer and not before then if it has to happen.

Just cos he’s decided to go to prem and get life changing money people have decided he’s now shite??
We’re a championship club paying mid table wages this will continue to happen until we get promoted nee point slagging them all off. Jobe will be next if don’t go up and then rigg the year after. It’s shite but that’s how it is with prem money v championship.

Jack Clarke sorted for life I bet with that Ipswich contract whatever happens he’s still got a 4-5 year deal on 5 times more than we could offer.

Players are not arsed about playing for a so called big club. If Bournemouth come calling there gone unfortunately.

Canny rant there haha goodnight

Doesn’t matter what the squad is worth if we’re not successful does it?
We are doing v well in my humble opinion.
I’ve supported the club 60 plus year and if you think this is bad you need to give your head a shake .
We are progressing-got some talent ( that top clubs want )-a very good academy
40000 each week and fans round me at least ?-that enjoy the experience
I’ve brought 3 kids up all of who live behind enemy lines who love the lads and realise it’s not all about the money and achievement-it’s about the people ,club and development ( particularly these days)
I get the “you are part of the problem brigade “-but I genuinely feel we are slowly and “ correctly “ heading in the right direction.
I am happy with who owns us and the way we are heading .Not perfect but we havnt sold out

Fine with it so long as he doesn't play anymore games this season, he's not our player anymore and we shouldn't be developing another teams player unless we argee'd to on a loan deal.
It’ll be tinpot as fuck if he kicks another ball for us this season like. It’s a bizarre situation.
