Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

Im gobsmacked at people saying £10m is a good fee.

Buys you fuck all improvement in the championship. Wasn’t Cannon £10m?
Wilson was 4 million, Mayenda a million, Mundle a million, Ballard 2 million, Jobe between 1.5 and 3 million. That's 10 million getting all them in. We turned down 12 trying to convince him to sign a new deal. They can't agree so his value will drop the closer the contract runs down and he won't be 1st choice putting himself in the window between now and then as Mundle is NO 1

I will but I can still think hes a bit of an arse and desperate to get away from the club since he turned 17. His effort has been woeful in recent weeks.
His head has undoubtedly been turned. Massive wage increase and to a PL club who are renowned for improving young players. He's not some seasoned pro who is playing the game , bit naive but it's nowt to get upset about

Fair bit of bitterness on here mind. The timing of the announcement is irrelevant if he’s agreed the move. It’s common knowledge we sell to buy so getting £10M now rather than less in the summer is a good deal imo.
As for Tommy himself who could begrudge him a prem move on a lot more money than he’d get here. Have you seen the state of the wages we give our home grown players

He's got one year left on his deal and they can't/won't agree a new one, it seems pretty straightforward.
Yes but i will say it again, why dosnt he see his future here? Sees behind scenes stuff, knows we are just a selling club, wont ever compete at top with this model, contract offered peanuts (well known we are one of the bottom payers in the league). Not saying we should be paying him mega bucks yet but some of the wages our lot are getting are poor in comparison.

Spot on. It's crackers the reaction to this on here

I'm not upset tbh, this has been coming since last summer. I'd just rather not play the lad again personally. His performances since he returned hasn't justified being anywhere near the pitch anyway.

Jobe, Hume, Ballard, Patto, O'Nien, Cirkin, Alese have all signed new deals. Why did they see their futures here?

Doesn’t want to be here he can fuck off. Had a couple of good games in his life and he thinks he’s too good for us.

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
Got to be honest I think this kind of attitude is short sighted. He’s been offered a move to a Premier League club and at the moment we aren’t one. I’d rather he stay too but immediately hammering a player the second it’s announced is baffling.
