Patto

Similar to the Lionel Perez situation under Reidy. Too many mistakes cost us automatics in 97/98. Replaced him with Sorenson the season after and the rest was history

Not even comparable imo 🤷‍♂️ Patto is as consistent , confident and reliable as you hope for.
Lionel was a complete maverick…. You had no idea what was coming next.
Sorensen was the best keeper in my 60+ years.. if you think we can afford to buy someone of his quality fantastic

Definitely room for improvement in all aspects of his game but he really needs to come back next season at least a stone lighter first

I think we all know now he's not the amazing talent that will go on to the premier league shortly for £15m like we originally thought a few years ago.

But he is OK though, certainly not a bad keeper at all, great shot stopper. We could just about get away with him for another top 2 push next season if it comes to that given that Leeds have managed with Meslier having ropey periods.

Theres better though, even in the championship and we should always aim to improve

Definitely not good enough overall for first choice in the premier league should we go up.

He's got to be better at judging crosses and if necessary throwing his height and considerable bulk into clearing a path for himself to get at the ball. He should always be favourite, he can use his hands, the opposition can't and he's protected by refs. Very poor show from Patto.

No summer holiday for Patto then . in every day, just coming for crosses through a load of rugby tackle bags till he can two fist it to the half way line every time. Be a very good keeper if he could/would do that. Needs aggression , give the CB's a pointed stick to to jab him with before corners

As often in a thread like this there is some fair points and utter nonsense. The problem a lot of the time is that every time the ball hits our net there are people who can find a way of blaming it on the keeper. The second goal fair enough however there's no goalkeeper saving the first. A perfect delivery and no way of getting through a ruck of players.

Looks like Barcherini has been involved with coaching outfield players since RLB came in, not directly with the keepers. Zero improvement in Patto's game this season. New GK coach appointed this week. Should have been months ago.

I think GK will be a priority signing if we go up, and should still be a key singing if we don't. Patterson is a reasonable championship keeper, makes some good saves, but has many elements to his game that he struggles with. We have simply improved and grown (no pun intended) at a faster rate than he has.

Patto could dee with losing a couple of clem like tbf, hes like barry fkn siddall at the minute

I would.

I'd say we've got little to lose at this point in the season by doing it.
I wouldn't go as far as dropping him. Replacing Patto could kill his confidence, especially as there is no guarantee Moore would be a success, and Patto would be back in the side, albeit from a decidedly weaker position. At the end of the day we are comfortably 4th wth a great chance of going up. No need to make drastic calls now.
