Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

I'm not, I was replying to someone else's claim by saying "what if?"

You're taking unsubstantiated claims as gospel so you can "out" an 18 year old lad man 🤣
And you're throwing out a different argument with just as much substance.

Im not sure why you're so bothered about my opinion on it.

Yet some continue to speculate !
The proof is in the pudding. He has 18 month left, so therefore he hasn’t signed a new contract. It won’t be that the club have t offered it as they seek to protect their investment. The only possible reason he only has that left is that he’s turned down a new contract for whatever reason.

Perhaps Speakman dropped the ball with Watson over his contract. There was a big fuss made publically when Ballard (again), Jobe and Rigg were given new contracts, but Watson wasn't. That's pretty humiliating and frustrating for him if the club are telling him how much they rate him.
Or perhaps the fact it took him months to sign his first pro deal shows he's never been particularly happy at the club and wants out.

Are you saying Watson wants to leave because his press conference wasn’t fancy enough when he signed a contract?
He signed it when he was 16/17. Since then he's probably been one of the best at U21 level anywhere. He then stepped up again and got into the first team and scored goals. I've no idea whether the club have tried to renegotiate his contract, like they did for the other young players, but can understand his frustration if they haven't.

I just hope he isn't hoying the baby out with the bath water!

Sorry people would rather keep someone with 18 months left on their deal who was played a handful of games and has the potential to be on the bench when Mundle is fit vs £10m, a sell on % and a premier league winger on loan?

That'd depend upon when he's gonna be fit and how good he'd be upon his return.

If we can get money in and a player who's ready to play this weekend they'd be far better placed to help us with promotion.
Very true !If he goes i think it will be us that regrets it the most in a couple of years time ..Brighton have kept themselves in the prem with acquisition of young talent and selling them at peek value and we need to emulate them if we are to ever consolidate a position in the pren..I personally think watson is nowhere near his peak value and it will be a mistake to sell him in this window!

i repeat no evidence for this but the passage of time!
