Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

This is exactly the point that is being continually missed.

Apparently he had to have his arm twisted to sign the contract he has now.

He obviously hasn't signed an extension to that and seems to have no intention in doing so.

In a few months time his contract will have 1 year remaining.
Those running the club have to be extremely mindful of that.
I'm not sure if that's just a load of gash that was spouted on here as well.
Was it not because he was recovering from his back injury that he didn't sign or didn't get offered one?

I think I’d take £12m personally. He’s due back after Mundle and is beneath him in the pecking order anyway.

We need people in this window for the promotion push. The £150m club get for promotion is more than we’ll ever get for him.
Maybe, are we going to get better back up for the money at this point in the window? Doubtable. We need the best of what we can get in value and id argue we couldn’t find better value than a home grown lads fan for the run in. Looking forward to having the Mundle, Watson left wing option.

Yeah I get that. As I’ve said, Watson isn’t gonna be able to play till March, we have Mundle ahead of him so he might not play much anyway and we’re light in other areas.

As I said, he’s behind Mundle in the pecking order anyway. Mundle is due back in a couple of weeks, Watson is at least a month away.

We could use that money to strengthen in other positions.

It's all down to the contract negotiations.

If he is willing to sign a new deal then get that done but if not we need to maximise the deal but bring in a replacement and another.

If we were to sign Clarke on loan to replace him, that would improve our starting XI right now.
