Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

I'm not talking about Brighton. I'm talking about Watson and Sunderland.

He's 18 years old man, a lad from a mining village, still a bairn, barely old enough to buy a pint, needs his mates and family around while he's still growing up. There's plenty of time for him to spread his wings.

As for us, if the club rates him, selling him now would be daft as he'd be worth much more in a few years time.

Will be highly surprised if this goes through.
I’ll be surprised too but if he did I can see why he would.

Brighton are in a higher league but not bigger, what a stupid thing to say. Just another foreign fan

Brighton at the moment are considerably ahead of us. They have the footballing infrastructure and squad that we should aspire to in a few years but even if we were promoted this season that won’t change overnight. The 3 teams promoted this season make up the bottom 4 with a big gap to 16th. Brighton are an established premier league side pushing for Europe.

All that aside I think Watson will stay as he is a local lad and we are on the up. Obvious would be to convince him to stay until the summer on the basis of a key role and lucrative contract in waiting with an agreement that if we don’t go up we will let him go.

Haven't read the full thread but why would an 18 year old lad from Horden want to go all the way to Brighton?

And, if the club rate him why would they sell him now, we'd barely get 5 million and they'd reckon his stock will rise and we'd get a lot more in a couple of years time?

Would be a strange transfer.
From what I've heard the money being offered to him would be impossible to turn down.

As I said. Forget a Money -
If you can’t…
Five million would pay the wages of enzo for three years?
Feel better? Make sense?

We don’t know what is going on.i don’t care. I want better players and progression.
Have we class coming through like Watson? Do you know?

Also the club are very private. I’ve a great source, he knows nothing about lots of shit have been spouted about prices and transfers.
One thing is a fact. Nothing gets leaked our side.
We certainly have used this journalist to get stuff out

nee chance
Then we keep him. I'd actually rather keep him. The only way I'd want to sell is if he doesn't want to sign longer for us, but I want to keep him . Local lad making his break through season in a promotion fight. What the hell would he want to up sticks now apart from money. See JC to see if the grass is greener

If he wont sign a contract, then its goodbye. We dont want people here running their contracts down and the club under Speakman wont allow it to happen.
