Tom Cannon bid in - now signed for Sheff U.

That's the kind of performance he'd chuck in for us but then would slot in a penalty or knock in a goal out of nowhere to pad out his stats.

I'm shocked Wilder didn't play him in a 352 alongside Campbell or Brereton.

Told you that you already had better in your side. Mayenda, even though his goals output isn't the best, offers way more. Proper bullet dodged for you this is.

He sounds like Darren Bent.

Realistically what can you see him doing at sheff Utd. He’s got 16 games left, 1 in 2?

Darren Bent was a goal scorer. Cannon isn't. I'm actually not sure what sort of player he is. Not a target man, not going to run in behind, doesn't seem strong enough to battle with the CB, not skillful enough to create

Bent had pace, was a fox in the box, good movement and a proven goalscorer in the top flight.

Tom Cannon has failed at 2 parent clubs in the Premier League and has had 2 decent loans at a lower level.
Don't think it was a direct comparison.
As a player he is nothing like Darren Bent. He was a constant goal threat not someone who strolled about and got the odd lucky goal.

Darren Bent mostly played on the shoulder of the last man because he had real pace.

Cannon hasn't done that in any of the 3 games I've seen him play this season.

There is simply no comparison.

Goals per minutes on the pitch, I'm guessing Mayenda is more prolific.

I don't understand why we'd be interested in Cannon. We have the forward line we need to get out of this league and he's not good enough for the top flight.

To me, he's a limited centre forward whose transfer fee is inflated, like most English players.

Bent was everything Cannon isn't. His output for the rest of the season depends on what Wilder does I reckon. I read a stat on their board before they signed him saying that Stoke have created more big chances for their forwards this season than Sheff U. Not quite sure that stacks up but if it does?

I liked the idea of signing Cannon, particularly if it had been a loan with an option to buy but my opinion is based upon a very small amount of data/actual experience of watching the player.

The opinion of someone who has watched the player for half a season is far more relevant.
