Didn't they turn down bids close to 20m for Whittaker last season? They may well have dropped a clanger there.

Roberts is also adapting his game off the ball to suit how RLB wants to play and doing so brilliantly. I can’t see Whitaker being able to do that. Scores a rocket now and again, but I don’t think he’s half the footballer Roberts is.

Good player at this level but you would think with his 4 goals and one assist in 20 odd games this season that he was out of the top drawer. There’s a big world out there to buy players and Whitaker just gives us a bit more depth.
