I think we’d be fairly cautious but the model has spent fairly competitively outside of clubs with parachute money or that have made big sales so i think we’d spend on the right players. Probably not 100m but more than 50m.

We'd definitely spend 50m on a player if we thought their ceiling was high enough that we were guaranteed to make a big return on them, like if we could snatch Nwaneri from Arsenal or a similarly standard talent.

That's literally the model, getting players who we think are under their market value and then either profiting on the pitch with them or off it by selling them.

No reason at all we couldnt do it on an obligation to buy if promoted loan . If he gets us promoted hes good enough for PL and we'd need the likes of him anyway ..and thats what they cost

No chance. The model has to be sustainable. No player is guaranteed to make a profit and a career ending injury puts the whole future of the club in jeopardy. The model is to buy affordable players the club think are undervalued

If yr spending 50 million on someone they would expect their wage to reflect that. No chance we'd be doing them sort of deals imo

It's going to happen, we're going the same way as Brighton who recently signed Rutter from Leeds for that sort of fee and regularly pay loads for prospects. It would need PL money and some successful sales but it's a matter of time if we manage to go up.

Brighton sold about £400m worth of players and bought yer man for about £40m. We're miles off that level yet.

That's what I said but that's what the end goal is. Get PL money, sell for big money, buy bigger prospects for more money, sell for even more money, get even better players, rinse and repeat.

Yeh that's my thoughts process. Not saying it wouldn't ever happen but think we'd need to build up to them sort of numbers.
If we went up just think we'd be getting the next level up of under 21s prospects and some others who probs have potential / experience but need reinvigorating

We're miles off it yet, would need to sell players like Rigg and Jobe for 100m+ apiece and be thriving in the Prem ourselves but that's where we'll hopefully end up. If we go up we'll obviously have to be a bit clever but spending money is absolutely unavoidable unless you want to be embarrassed and then your prospects aren't worth owt.

You said nothing about an end goal. You said we'd spend £50m on a player if the club thought they'd make money on them. As things stand there's no way in hell we're spending £50m any time soon

Well no prospect who would be worth that money would come to a newly promoted club but if they did and the club were 100% sure they'd increase in value they'd pay it IMO.
