Jack Clarke

Clarke wanted to stay. As did Harte. If they paid him what he wanted and deserved he would still be here. Move on.
What did he deserve like? Go on be brave. Stick a number on it? And what’s he showed since to suggest he deserves whatever Ipswich are paying him?

Rinse and repeat re JC.
Ipswich won, McKenna shuffled the pack.
Szmodics on the bench, Kelvin Phillips didn't start and got a couple of minutes at the end. JC on the bench abut didn't get on.
Squad game, he will continue to be an important part of their squad.
The lad is a good player, rarely injured and half a season still to go.
We should all wish him well apart from if he plays against SAFC.

He did enough at Sunderland to warrant paying him 25k. It’s easy to pick him apart because of how he’s doing at Ipswich but reality is he just doesn’t suit that side at all. He has made a mistake with the club he decided to go to.
He was under contract and was being paid what he wanted. He had a shot at PL money and took it. The club would have been crazy to get in a bidding war with another club for the services of a player they have under contract.
And with that mentality we will continue to lose our best players every summer.

No one else wanted him

What’s the answer? Pay higher salaries and stay in the same position. If a player wants to go, let him go. Clarke got his head turned and he left.

Last season Burnley, West Ham and Southampton all agreed deals with the club. Then we changed the goal posts last minute. Didn’t seem to be as much interest in the summer.

Just maybe though the club realised we had two talented left wingers in Mundle and Watson (I'm particularly excited about Watson from what i've seen) and cashed in on Clarke before his value fell because he wasn't going to sign a new contract and only had two years left (For example we would probably would have had to accept maybe £10m this window otherwise we're then going into the Summer with him having just 1 year left and his value would have fell even further)

That's the Model.

And we've invested some of that money on Aleksic and Achmed, players (hopefully) who will come good soon.

This thread is really going around in circles, we sold Clarke at the right time for the right reasons at the right price.

“Agreed deals” when?
He's talking absolute shite as facts. Will probably quote fishpaste in a minute.

Let's be crystal clear. The club was ran in such a disgusting way last season, Beale/dodds ball etc, and he got the opportunity to move. No one can blame him at all. It's because we were ran so poorly that we lost him.

The same will happen again to our players if we don't soon improve and get results to indicate progress

He left because he wanted to play in the Premier League. As for “same will happen” of course it will, unless we’re the dominant force in world football and have no PSR issues then players will always have to be sold.

I agree, but if we finished inside playoffs for example he may have seen enough evidence we were moving there. Last season was so f***ing bad it was enough for him to be convinced he wouldn't get there with us.

Could have lost the play off final on penalties, he’d have still been off.

I think if he stayed here one more season he’d have gotten a really big move this summer.

To who? You’ve got an Ipswich fan telling you he’s not physically strong enough, he was anonymous in the fa cup game.

He’s 23 there are better and younger players coming in, he didn’t even get a sniff of an U21 call up at a time when Carsley was giving out chances left right and centre .

Personally think he’s at his level, top half championship side or relegation battling premier league side (which tbf will set him up for life)

What about the 2 games against Fulham when he scored in both?

Ipswich aren’t playing to his strengths, this is his chance though, he won't get another PL move unless he starts playing well.
