Milan Aleksic - Confirmed

Then put him in the u21's & put Ba or Aouchiche on the bench. We needed a midfielder to come on today & we had to change the system because the manager didn't trust anybody. I'd have even rather he brought Jones on who's been outstanding for the u21's than change the system & invite the pressure.

The manager simply isn't going to use Ba or Aouchiche as he doesn't trust them and nor would I have wanted him to - neither of them addresses anything that happened today. He maybe sees something in Alexsic but feels he isn't ready yet.

The system change didn't lose us the game, we were already struggling with Wright and he likely felt Ballards physicality would help. Possibly got the system wrong, but it's a lack of proper options for me in the areas we're short.
Had to be a better option than going five across the back and sitting deep.

We've done it since early season a few times. Nothing new.

My point was more that by putting them on the bench Aleksic can play for the u21's, he'd have got far more out of that Boston game than Aouchiche did.
I'm not a massive fan of Aouchiche but he has experience we could use. Ba i like despite all his faults, i haven't given up on him & still think his best position is as an attacking 8. I've thought that since he's been here but we didn't play the system to suit & now that we do he isn't getting a look in. I also think without Poveda he's still our best option on the right after Roberts. It does feel like Le Bris is cutting off his nose to spite his face with regards to those 2. Even if you think you can replace them with better in Jan, (not disputing that) but they're here now so use them when they're needed & right now with injuries & suspensions piling up they're needed.

I thought the main problem 2nd half was sitting back & inviting pressure. Going to 3 at the back is the last thing we should have done imo, we just ended up on top of our keeper.
Yes he has.
Has he? Apologies if he has but I must have missed it if he has turned out for the u21's

Only once, mind. But played very well by all accounts.

It’s very baffling the situation with him.

Wright was just exceptional today. Couldn’t handle him from minute one. He single handedly got Coventry back in the game
Fair play to their recruitment, Gyökeres used to do exactly the same. I still think we beat ourselves though. Don't know what was said at ht but our mindset 2nd half was all wrong, strolled about like the game was won until it was too late & they'd pulled a goal back. Then the subs just invited the pressure.
I was buzzing at ht, I sensed blood against a team we owed one after years of misery against them, really wanted us to go out & humiliate them & we just didn't want it.

The most worrying thing for me is how long it took to replace Browne, you could tell he didn't have a scooby what to do.
It looked as though Browne was gonna continue though. This happens all the time at other teams too. He thought he'd give him a bit of time to run it off and it didn't happen. I wouldnt say he didn't have a clue what to do.

Watching on the stream it looked obvious he couldn't continue so i was shocked when he was sent back on. The bench looked completely bemused what to do, perhaps I was reading too much into their body language, tbh I was furious even at that point that we'd let them back into it, I've a real hatred for Coventry & how we can never get the better of them.

Yes we have, we've butchered teams in these areas in some games.

We aren't at the moment and haven't been for 5 or 6 games barring Oxford who stood off us and let us play.

When I said " we haven't got it right " I mean in terms of quality and balance, because due to recruiting injured players or players who are frequently injured we have no alternatives and thus are over reliant on a couple of teenagers in midfield and a young lad making his way on the left and we have little in the way of viable alternatives. That's fine until pitches become jaded, you have injuries or the pitches worsen and it becomes more of a fight- like it is now. Playing the likes of Rigg at the moment probably isn't doing him or us much good.
