Practice changing a nappy on a doll
Sleep when you can
Learn how to cook at least half a dozen meals
Make sure you know how to clean the house and do housework
Do your fair share round the house as she'll be more knackered than you
Work out stuff for you to do for and with the baby that's your time and gives her a break

With a baby routine, routine and more routine. She almost broke us at around the 14 month mark. Wouldn't sleep longer than a couple of hours at a stretch. 18 months 7-7 and things got better.

It worked for us. We tried sleep training but felt a bit cruel leaving them to cry on their own. Iirc our youngest called it Shaun.
Everyone has an opinion with raising very young children but you just have to find what works for your household.

Wish it went without saying, but it doesn't. There's too many lads whose Mams did everything, got a lass who does everything, then two weeks after the baby's born they don't understand why their game of FIFA is being interrupted by a screaming angry wife

Changing a nappy in and of itself is a piece of piss, it’s the fact that babies move like frogs when you’re trying to do it that ramps up the difficulty

All I'll say is you can practice the basics and perfect your hand speed before the little shit comes along. Then you've got a solid foundation of technique when you're trying to fasten the sides while they've managed to get fully vertical

Also get into character as a stern orderly in a Victorian Mental Asylum. Really helps if you decide to swaddle them occasionally.
All three of mine could escape any swaddling attempts anyone tried on them, it insulted their intelligence to even try. It livened up one particularly sleepless month to see the smug smile wiped off a health visitor's face after she "showed me how to swaddle them properly" and number one son just pulled his arms out like a magic trick
