Test Series :: Australia v India

How long left have the Aussies got left of Hazelwood-Starc-Cummins-Marsh-Lyon. Great, dominant bowling attack but by the time we're are back there are all of them going to be playing and if they are are they going to be as dominant. Have the Aussies got any quicks bubbling under?

I think they’ll all play (health and fitness permitting), they may look to move on from them at the end of that Ashes Series.

I have to say, I really didn’t expect this game to be over as a contest by the middle of Day 2

Quite disappointing really.

It’s class, but I’m still taking McGrath, Lee, Gillespie, Warne et al.

All about opinions

There’s not lots coming through really, I reckon the power could shift back to England after that

Been pretty average since the 2019 ashes. Only has 6 centuries in that period. For comparison, Root has 19 in that same time frame.
Really? that's not great but he does seem to turn it on against England.

Root's peak has lasted longer than all of the batsmen from his era.

Think a lot of people have underestimated the fighting qualities of India and their ability to raise their game on this thread.

Like I said on the first page of the thread this series will be closer than people think especially considering India have Bumrah

If Aussies go one down here they should be a decent price for series win.

Could be seeing a few playing county cricket before next home ashes series if its true the ACB want the next generation to get more experience of English conditions.

I think they’re right up against it mate, in theory Adelaide and the pink ball Test should favour them - but then so should Perth and they’re getting an absolute battering.

India will be licking their lips for Melbourne and Sydney - so there really isn’t much room for error for Australia now they’re 1-0 down

India’s openers were brilliant there, the sort of knocks our openers would never make. Jaiswal looks a hell of a player
It was great to listen to. Proper Test match batting. For a long period they were scoring at two an over but it was still engaging. Proof that you don’t need to score at 5 an over to be entertaining.

There was only really one chance offered, an edge that Khawaja probably should have taken. The Indian batsmen were otherwise faultless for 57 overs.

I listen to all the cricket pods and it’s amazing how far they try and make India sound huge underdogs etc. I’d have Oz as favs in home conditions but it’s a country or a billion people and a board that has all the money in the game

It’s a David v Goliath thing!

I still fancy them especially with the gabator still to come. Interested to see how brave the bookies are no doubt they have taken some money on an Aussie win the way the price came in over padt few weeks.

I was watching the coverage on Fox (surprisingly good to be honest) and they mentioned this was the oldest Australian test 11 ever. Even Labushagne is 30 now

I’ve seen nothing of the game as I don’t have tnt sports but was the pitch dodgy on the first day and went flat on day 2 ?

Will take some chasing for Aus in the fourth innings

I think all of their best players are on the wrong side of 30. There doesn’t seem to be a lot coming through.

You could say Englands best are all over 30 as well

Root, Stokes etc , I assume wood and Woakes will be in the ashes squad

Then we have Archer who it’s unsure if he will be available

Don’t agree, we’ve loads of good players under 30

Root the main one of course
