Of the midfield 3 only Neil impacted on the game as he sat in front of the back four, tackled, passed and recycled the ball. We had no control of the game whatsoever as Browne had an off night and Rigg was bizarrely trying to press their back four and had no connection at all with Neil and Hume at right back. Strange tactics. We were lost until they tired and Roberts brought danger with every touch.
Sorry mate but in that first half he never made a pass to a Sunderland player, with Jobe missing it highlights how he struggles to link the play. That shot at the end was tragic, mind Browne was horrific and Rigg didn't look fit to me, he was lacking his usual spark.
 
O'Nien was excellent, by far the best player on the pitch tonight. Hume was good and so was Roberts when he came on.

Alan Browne is miles off the quality of those around him imo; a very average Championship midfielder. Easy to see why he's on the bench when others are fit. Mad what one decent performance against by far the worst team in the league has done for his reputation on here, like.

Is Jobe defo out for 2 more games? Huge miss.
 
Reg cost us points tonight like, got the setup wrong big time style. Oh well, at least the thousand away games in a row patch is over and now we can get back home and boss some games. I just hope the players aren't too mad at him, they clearly weren't up for this setup from the off. I don't think they put enough effort in and their heads were down, where was the pressing??? Get motivated lads, yous need to realise what a brilliant opportunity we have here, you shouldn't need pep talks to give your all when the title is up for grabs!! When you are old men you'll look back at this with regrets if you don't take this opportunity.
